Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted July 28, 2020 Report Posted July 28, 2020 After reading that: More changes coming on top of the current changes made already?👀 Quote
Lions Pride 2021 Posted July 28, 2020 Report Posted July 28, 2020 Why is Ken Paxton the top cop in Texas when he is still under federal indictment that could send him to jail for the up to the end of his natural life? And he was voted in twice with this hanging over his head? I hope the school boards continue to defer to their local health officials instead of this bonehead. Quote
Bobcatfan4life Posted July 28, 2020 Author Report Posted July 28, 2020 TEA has already updated their reopening guidelines as it relates to funding. Schools ordered closed by local health authority past the TEA allotted online only timeframe will not be funded. Stepp saying on twitter that he is getting word of schools in the metro areas getting ready to start their strength and conditioning back up. He also retweeted someone saying that Katy is supposedly starting back up tomorrow. Quote

Innocent until proven guilty is what they’re saying. Who knows with those silly freedom loving Americans... NetCat 1 Quote

Locally, the biggest change would be in Huffman, which, if they decide to, would be able to report next Monday as opposed to Sept. 8 and hopefully reclaim those first four games. The HISD 4A schools won't be helped by this as the order currently delaying them IS an HISD ordered closure. Up north it should have some impact and in McClennan County it could have a big impact as schools like La Vega and Mart could climb from under that county's order. NetCat 1 Quote

Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted July 29, 2020 Report Posted July 29, 2020 Will there be another scramble for games again for teams like Huffman, La Vega...etc? Quote

WOSgrad Posted July 29, 2020 Report Posted July 29, 2020 What I fear is that these teams will have schools that they had orginally scheduled that have moved to other opponents. Perhaps not Huffman as they haven't been shut down for very long. But I could see some teams having this problem. Quote

WOSgrad Posted July 29, 2020 Report Posted July 29, 2020 I wonder if any of the other counties will do this: Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote
WOSgrad Posted July 29, 2020 Report Posted July 29, 2020 Count Huffman as the latest ISD to restart their program up. Just received an email from Coach Mac confirming that. SmashMouth 1 Quote
Peppermint Patty Posted July 30, 2020 Report Posted July 30, 2020 GCCISD will restart SAC on Monday, August 3rd. Quote
ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING Posted July 31, 2020 Report Posted July 31, 2020 The mlb has only been up a week and by Monday could be shutdown for good because of more positive test. With some kind of bubble contaminant a like the nba its sports will not work. I will guarantee you if the mlb shutdowns monday it wont go unnotice by all levels. Lions Pride 2021 1 Quote
Lions Pride 2021 Posted July 31, 2020 Report Posted July 31, 2020 MLB has a pretty comprehensive plan and they are not going to make this season work. The UIL and TEA are throwing stuff at the wall and hoping something sticks. Our criminal attorney general is trying to score political points with a small audience. We should listen to the scientists and doctors. if our local health officials say it's not safe for school to open, that should be what we do. Tigers94 and Fevertree 2 Quote

Did another team get it or something, I haven't heard anything new in a day or so? Why are y'all saying it's done on Monday? Quote

Why are y'all saying it's done on Monday? Yeah, the Cardinals came up positive this morning. And the owners had a call with the players association saying if they don't follow the guidelines ( no hi fives, no spitting, social distance in the dugout, etc.) and infections keep coming in, they could shut this down by Monday. Our kids don't make any money playing the game. There's no reason to put them in danger. Let's play ball in the spring and quit the posturing. Quote
