But tobacco will not get Trump out of office.  China and the Dims think COVID might!

I agree  , just displaying the hypocrisy of all of sudden how people on the left have became Pro-Life because of the virus when 480,000 people are dying yearly while companies profit off it.

I smoked Marlboro reds for 35 years and have been quit for 19. If I am diagnosed with lung cancer tomorrow, I couldn’t find it in myself to try and sue the tobacco companies. I was warned about the addiction and the cancer possibilities before I took my first puff. It was my choice. Alcohol is addictive and can cause all types of illnesses. Think of drunk driving fatalities. It’s on the driver. No one is suing the brewers, although I guess some have tried. We have to warn people not to put fish hooks in their mouths. Go figure.
To sum it up, I think it’s weird how everyone is reacting to Covid.

I see this as apples and oranges.

People choose to smoke. No one chooses to catch Covid.

No one chooses to die of 2nd hand smoke either but 41,000 people a year die from it. No one chooses to get hit by a drunk driver but thousands die every year from it. I see it as Apples to Apples if lives truly matter. Way to much hypocrisy an choosing winners & losers in this Fear Porn that we’re experiencing. I am referring to the Freedom to choose what you think is best for you. Smoke, Drink Alcohol, Open your business or wear a Freakin Mask if you want! If you believe a mask is effective like the experts say then you shouldn’t worry if some else isn’t wearing a mask. They’re letting people out of prison because of COVID-19. Why don’t they just wear a mask like some of the experts say an they should be alright. Why let them out? Tell them to wear a mask or they don’t get their meals. They’re in prison you don’t get a choice.

So we should eliminate smoke and alcohol? How about guns? No one chooses to be gunned down either.

I completely understand the drunk driving point. But a person doesn't have to be anywhere where someone is smoking. That's still their choice.

Wrong... My wife’s Bosses son in law died 6 years ago from second hand smoke. He never smoked a day in his life. But his mom and dad smoked like a train. Left behind a 3,5 and 7 year old kids. I am not against drinking, smoking etc. I just believe everyone should have the decision to make their on free choices. If I don’t want to wear a mask or buy into the panicdemic I shouldn’t have too. But I get tired of hearing it’s about saving lives, if it was about saving lives then hence our discussion about tobacco and alcohol. This virus guideline nonsense is a vehicle to control people. I have the right to pursue life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, those are my unalienable rights. The Declaration of Independence didn’t say except in a pandemic.

Then don't wear a mask. Your choice.

On the same token, a business has the right to refuse anyone not wearing a mask. Same as no shoes, no shirt policy.

SOME businesses are being strong armed into enforcing the mask issue  by the state or the state will yank their liquor license. Not Cool. But yet bar Businesses are not allowed to open in order to provide for their family. The state should not be picking winners and losers in business. There is nothing free about that. The experts predict 84% of independent restaurants will fail. Overall restaurants 4 out of every 10 will fail. Think about that. The restaurant owner, the employees, the vendors that supply the restaurant, the farmers that supply the vendors. Those are families that have to provide for their kids. Get the picture? Funny how you use to never be able to go into a bank wearing a mask. Oh the irony. Hypocrisy on a Mass Scale , the numbers just aren’t there. The numbers don’t add up to cause the Fear Factory.

I know, and will not name, a couple restaurants that do not require you to wear a mask. I do it to keep them from being fined.

I find it hard to believe someone hanged themself with one of these masks. When I take one off, it hangs on my glasses and I easily break it taking it off. Was this one of those bandana masks? Still find it hard to believe.

Taxes on cigarettes vary by state, but guess who has the highest tax on cigs........The District of Columbia. So your government profits second to the tobacco companies. Funny how that works. Cutting off their nose to spite their face.

Hey, they need to change that name. Columbia has to be from Columbus, and we know where that road goes.

I have a restaurant locally I go to that does not require mask either. They serve a variety of foods that are delicious. They’ve earned a ton of my business and respect. I appreciate the fact that masks are optional. A lot of my regular restaurants have lost my business due to the mask issue. What are we on day 150  of 15 days to flatten the curve. This is freakin ridiculous!

Yep...an I have the right to spend my money elsewhere. A lot those businesses want be around to refuse serving people not wearing masks because they’ll be out of business. Restaurants can’t go much longer at 50% capacity. The profit margins in the restaurant business are very slim. There has already been restaurants in the area go out of business.

The best steak house in orange is now closing a 4pm. Due to staffing shortages. $600/week for staying home is destroying small business.

If masks work, why can’t all businesses open back up at 100%?

Don’t start asking logical questions, that would make to much sense. I agree 100%!! When all the smoke clears people are going to see that the lockdown measures caused way more damage than the virus. That’s what pisses me Off! Lost businesses, lost jobs, lost lives due to depression , anxiety, drug addiction, alcoholism and fear of going to the hospital to treat a serious illness because of the virus thanks to the media. Lumberton Raider Fan Thank You for seeing thru the NONSENSE. If the mask work why not leave prisoners in prison an give them a mask!
