Admiral Abbot is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, a private, non-profit aid society dedicated to assisting Sailors, Marines and their families. Until June, 2003, he served as the Acting Homeland Security Advisor to the President, having served as the Deputy Homeland Security Advisor under Governor Tom Ridge. Admiral Abbot’s last military assignment was Deputy Commander in Chief, U.S. European Command, Stuttgart, Germany. He oversaw the daily activities of a Unified Command with an area of responsibility encompassing 89 countries and more than 13 million square miles. Quote
stevenash Posted September 10, 2020 Report Posted September 10, 2020 I served in the military and place a high value on it. With that said, I do not automatically accept, unchallenged, the values/opinions of any individual whether civilian or military. There are plenty of people who don't like Trump. But there are a lot to do. I wonder why it is that we never hear about those people? Could it possibly be that the media is willing accomplice in the effort to get Trump out of office? Quote

You were quick to lump them all into Swampsters without even looking at the list. I agree there are Swampsters at all levels just like in the public sector, but there are also some good career minded people. Quote

If you are trying to create the suggestion that "all good people" dont support Trump, nobody is going to buy that. Plenty of good people who support Biden and plenty of good people who support even though you and the vast majority of the media wont allow that fact to be known. Quote

When I left college, I moved 1200 miles from home to an area where i knew nobody. My dad cosigned a $300 note that allowed me to move down here. I began my work career as a service writer in a car dealership where I was not accepted very well because I was a "yankee". But I persisted, didn't cry that others were mean to me or conspired against me, applied myself and lets just say that the results have been pretty gratifying. I don't recall that getting the service writer job somehow denied that "opportunity" to a black person. I do recall this. I have a close family member who is a pretty good high school basketball coach and know, for a fact, he had been told multiple times not to apply for the coaching job at this school or that school because they wanted a black coach. So much for his white privilege. And one more thing, I never had to use a government program to sustain myself. Quote

It’s not the fact they wanted to better themselves. But, when one doesn’t want to work and live off the government, it’s the fault of slavery. If one has the desire, they can absolutely better themselves. Quote
