NetCat Posted September 23, 2020 Report Posted September 23, 2020 Well, I've seen video and pictures from football and volleyball games all over the area...and I feel like they all would get the same letter if someone turned them in. Luckily no one has. Quote

WOSdrummer99 Posted September 23, 2020 Report Posted September 23, 2020 I did my part and wore a mask last week. And so did everyone else that was in attendance. Be careful, the eyes of texas are upon you. Even you guys up there in the press box should be following the saftey guidelines, right? Quote
Hagar Posted September 23, 2020 Report Posted September 23, 2020 Let’s make it simple folks. If you don’t want to wear a mask, don’t go to the freaking game.. Don’t let your attitude ruin it for everyone else. It ain’t rocket science. 😡😡😡 BMTSoulja1, bulldog81, A BUC 77 and 1 other 4 Quote
LTFALCON Posted September 23, 2020 Report Posted September 23, 2020 I have been a part of 2 games and both games the spectators did not practice social distancing, less than 1/4 had masks, coaches had masks and half the time down below their chin, coaches on the field most of the game, just not what I was expecting. bullets13 Posted September 23, 2020 Report Posted September 23, 2020 The same ones refusing to wear a mask will be the same ones crying when it all gets shut down. WOSgrad, AggiesAreWe and THS99 3 Quote
Eazy Posted September 23, 2020 Report Posted September 23, 2020 So if the government said to wear an astronaut helmet for safety reasons, I’m sure we wouldn’t question that either. How about a pink tutu? Hagar, RETIREDFAN1 and SmashMouth 1 2 Quote

SmashMouth Posted September 26, 2020 Report Posted September 26, 2020 You want to know how stupid this crap is? After a game, a slugfest, where both sides are going at it 100% in each other’s faces the whole night, one team lines up on the 45 and the other on the 50 and they holler “good game” to each other 5 yards away. Freakin stupid!!! MrUmp1 1 Quote
Eazy Posted September 26, 2020 Report Posted September 26, 2020 Now, now. We must be diligent in ensuring the safety of all involved. Five yards apart is more cautious than the required two. Next week, for safety reasons, all fans must have umbrellas if outdoors due to climate change, unless there is lightning within 6 feet. SmashMouth 1 Quote
Guest ECBucFan Posted September 27, 2020 Report Posted September 27, 2020 This "warning" by the UIL to tiny Elysian Fields does not surprise me one bit. The UIL operates like the NCAA. When a major big money power university blatantly violates rules, the NCAA grabs some tiny no-name university that had some almost meaningless technical violation and throws the book at them, to prove a point. The old saying was "The NCAA was SO INFURIATED at Notre Dame for egregiously breaking recruiting rules, they suspended Southwest Missouri State for two years". I say this because I watched TV highlights from a high profile 6A game in the DFW metroplex, and there appeared to be zero compliance. Even though this was shown on TV statewide, the UIL is stone cold silent. Throw the little guys under the bus...the Big Boys get a pass... Quote

A lot goes into the UIL sending a letter like that and typically its not the first incident...just because something hasn't come out publicly on a Sunday doesn't mean someone wasn't warned etc....Elysian Fields put their notice out publicly...some are warned and the notice isn't ever made public... Exactly. I actually know of two schools that received warnings but it was not made public. Quote
Guest ECBucFan Posted September 27, 2020 Report Posted September 27, 2020 If you two really want to believe the UIL will treat the high dollar mega schools the exact same way they would treat a tiny Elysian Fields, then have at it. Personally, I am not nearly that gullible. I have a brain. Quote
