Woman tased and arrested for not wearing a mask at a high school football game. It looks like she has a mask in her pocket so I’m sure she had to wear it to get in and while around other people. But sitting outside and socially distanced in the bleachers she did not have it on. Thoughts?

Idk the rules in her municipality, but IMO she should not have been arrested. That being said, initially do what the cop says and you alleviate a lot of heartache. Yessir and No sir goes a long way. Agree with it or not, if it was the law, then she should do what the officer says.

A mandate dictated by a governor WITHOUT having gone through the legislative process is NOT a law and does not carry any weight at all......she will sue and she will win........

I see a mulit-million dollar lawsuit in her future!!  Start draining these clowns of money and they'll stop!  You start suing everyone involved.  It's time to fight back when our Constitutional rights are being violated.

From the above article...

“The governor and the (Ohio) health department have made it very clear that masks are required indoor and outdoor at sports facilities. They’re just part of the expectation,” said Venderlic. “They’re one of the requirements the OHSAA (Ohio High School Athletic Association) brought down and said that if we’re going to be able to have fall sports we’re going to have to social distance and we’re going to have to wear masks.”

“Our other options are no fans — which is not what we want to do,” said Schultheiss. “The other option is to stop the game and then we send kids home. I don’t want to hurt these kids. We’re here to respect the players and let the kids play.”

Do you're part, follow the guidelines, even if you don't agree, LET THEM PLAY!!!

Probably not. You’re still forced to wear a seatbelt and it’s just for your safety and no one else’s. Do what the cop says and sort it out later. I don’t think she should have been forced to wear it either. Do what the cop says and sort it out later. It’s pretty simple. When a Game Warden approaches me on the water and boards my boat and looks at my livewell, coolers, licenses, fire extinguisher, horn etc. I try to be as compliant and friendly as possible. Same thing when I’m hunting and he looks in my truck and  my hunting bag. I KNOW I haven’t violated any laws. I used to get teed off about it. But all I have to do is be nice and it all ends up happy. We shake hands, smile and keep on trucking. Do what the cop says and sort it out later (did I mention that already?).

Unfortunately seatbelts is a law.  Mandates are not.  You are right, though, government had no place getting into this area.  It should be a personal decision.  But...

The seatbelt LAW was passed by the legislature and signed by the governor....it was not DICTATED by the governor with no legislative input.......apples to oranges.......

I have said this before, but I gonna say again. Cause well, this is a chat forum.

Americans of all political stripes pretty much agree that it’s unhealthy to sneeze in someone’s face, that it’s impolite to spit in their food. Democrats and Republicans alike wear seat belts and motorcycle helmets. Conservatives and liberals both stop at red lights to allow others to pass through intersections.

But somehow, in the midst of the worst health crisis any of us have ever seen, we’ve gone and politicized mask wearing, transforming what ought to be a basic health issue — don’t get sick, don’t get others sick — into some sort of strangely reasoned referendum on government tyranny and constitutional rights.

THIS!!!!!!

Well said!

Kinda like my insurance adjuster yesterday. I got a good one, he's the one holding the pen and writing my check. If I would have acted a fool, could've ended badly. Just as the woman that didn't feel the need to follow the rules. Some may see police brutality, I see an unruly fan that could have chosen a completely different outcome. Hope she learned something from it.

Exactly.

Just be ready to be called a sheep from the likes of Reagan and WestHardinFan1.

It’s only the worst health crisis ever because the media said so.  It’s way overblown and the facts will come out.   Obviously people need to be smart if they are sick and not expose people.  Stay home if you are sick.  The same common sense as always during flu seasons.  But let people make their own decisions on wearing masks.  Wear one if you want to.  I am not at all concerned about getting sick from an asymptomatic person.

Man I love SETX.

She chose not wearing a mask, getting tasered, and being arrested over watching her son play. Someone else on here pointed it out already, but why not just abide by what the rules that are in place and then go sue the s*%$ out of em' (sarcastically speaking)

Reagan, no wearing a mask should not be a personal decision.  This is done for public welfare since you might unknowingly infect someone.  It really is that simple.

No, if you want to wear a mask then why would you worry about if I'm not wearing one.  Your mask works, doesn't it?!  Contrary to what some here thinks -- government is not always right!
