Is that team that good or Dayton that bad? I'm asking the Dayton folks.

Buddy of mine at the game says LK Creek is a solid team but not world beaters . Dayton is just playing that bad! Said Dayton had 4 or 5 interceptions 3 or 4 fumbles - overall not executing on both sides of ball. He  said there were a couple of drives that looked good resulting in TD's. Lots of improvement needed!

At least it's not a district game.

The Hispanic invasion has destroyed Dayton football.

Funny that one of the winningest coaches in Texas, Phil Danaher has proven this theory wrong, Refugio anyone, sounds more like an EXCUSE. Always blame kids to protect the coach. I saw it as a player in 70’s and now for 35 years as a coach. Why do we always make keep putting the responsible game on players and not adults, asking for another coaching friend. Guess I am sounding more like 14.2 that is often correct. Speck in another’s eye doesn’t compare to the log in mine.

Could be true, also it could be that they have football talent that's walking the hallways that want nothing to do with the football program, build a winner with what they got then they'll want to put the pads on, then sprinkle in a few stud transfers too and they might get back cooking again. It's gonna take Ware and company at least 2 years to get what they want in place, but I don't think Dayton is headed towards an 0-fer season, they'll sneak a couple teams in district play im hoping. In 2 years those freshmen will be juniors, they shouldn't be taking these kinds of beatdowns by then as in getting 70+ put on em.

I certainly agree that Coach Danaher is an incredible coach, but would he still one of the winningest coaches if he hadn’t spent 35 years or whatever it is in good ole Region 4?

Thank you AAW. I’m glad there is someone other than me not looking through rose colored glasses.

Case in point, look at Cleveland. Not long ago they were in 3A. Now they are a 5A DI but can't win football games.

Why? The wrong growth. But the soccer and baseball programs should do well.

Yessir you are SO right, and there are countless other schools throughout the state experiencing the exact same thing.

Corpus Christi Calallen has a lot of players that are NOT Hispanic.  And yes.. Region 4 also plays a part.

True but if you check state semis when la marque would play danahers team, the state champs scored in the last minutes to go ahead of his region 4 team. I was at two of those games. Anyone taking la marque to the end like that shows great teams no matter the culture.

Never quite able to get that state title though. LaMarque (like Dayton) is another example of a team that has been completely destroyed by something. I’m not sure that an Hispanic invasion has destroyed that program like it did in Dayton, but man they have certainly fallen off.
