bandgeekforlife
I had heard that Coach Stewart stated on the radio that he was starting 9 sophomores for the NAC game. Any truth to it?

PURPLE 4EVER
Dayton is in a sustained football rich cycle...The junior high just keeps pumping up talent to the high school. From 7th grade to 12th grade their really isn't a weak bunch. The 9th and 10th graders had better size and less skill position players and speed than the 11th and 12th grade bunch. This probably explains why the freshmen team has been beaten pretty bad the first 2 games, there just wasn't a lot of speed in that grade.I have heard the 7th graders have a lot of speed and will be good, haven't heard how they did in their first game this week. The 8th grade bunch has good size and a very good running back.Dayton is lucky to have the coaches in position that just keep building a good foundation for the high school. In the last 10 years I believe that combined the junior high teams (8th A & B and 7th A & have had less than 4 losses, that would be about 356 wins and 4 losses. When you keep sending up athletes to the high school that usually have never experienced many (if any) losses it just breeds success.FYI....The 12th graders and 11th graders were probably the richest two years back to back for Dayton when they were in 7th and 8th. This group of juniors and seniors should have a great year (if they can stay healthy...)
bandgeekforlife
From the rhetoric from the previous game, I was wondering if he started more soph's to keep some starters off the field as an attention-getter?
