Guest coachhooker Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 I just talked to one of my former students and he told me the football and baseball fields were both hit really hard, the scoreboards and light polls were knocked over, and several houses in High Island had a lot of damage
Bucster Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 High Island got hammered pretty hard. I wish the best for those folks.
PURPLE 4EVER Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 Thank goodness no one was killed. Many people were expecting a tropical storm so they didn't evacuate, then they are waking up to find that it mushroomed into a pretty healthy category 1 storm. I hope all the people down there are ok.God Bless

Panther Pride Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 Man I hate to hear that.. I was just there Tuesday with my son for a Jr. High scrimmage.. Best of Luck and Prayers to the High Island people from Anahuac. They treated our kids good while we were there..
TheCardinalFan Posted September 16, 2007 Report Posted September 16, 2007 Everyone in High Island appreciates your prayers. Went to bed at 10:30, no big deal expected a lot of rain and woke up at 1:30 and prayed for some relief from the wind and twisters. If there are any thrill seekers out there, I will let you stay in my house during the next Tropical Storm/Hurricane. I will check on you when things clear up!!!!!!!!!! Everyone has there heads up and are looking forward to getting the kids back in school. Light are on in High Island, but the rest of the beach will probably have to wait until Tuesday. We are very optimistic about playing the rest of the football season. The Administration just has to work out a few details. Thanks again.
NedDog Posted September 16, 2007 Report Posted September 16, 2007 I saw HI on the news the other day. It is good to see that your spirits are still up, despite all the destruction. Thoughts & prayers for a quick recovery from Nederland. Where are y'all talking about playing the remainder of the home football games?
RETIREDFAN1 Posted September 16, 2007 Report Posted September 16, 2007 Cardinalfan, I'm glad to hear that you made it out OK. Best of luck to you guys in getting things cleaned up and put back together. Our prayers are with you.
