i have heard rumors of the jackets droppin down to six man ball... is there any truth to this?

I've heard rumors of this also and would think their enrollment

would certainly qualify, however have also heard that

the administrators at Chester are dead against playing 6-Man.

Perhaps someone can confirm.

i dont understand why the administartion would be against... they are havin trouble putting enough guys in uniform to make a team

I think it is more the community being against it,  plus do you realize how far they would have to travel for games, unless some more schools in this area played 6 man.

I agree the travel would be tough but would think they would

be able to compete much better in 6-Man.

Seems like I remember some talk maybe a year or so ago about

creating an east texas six man district and that Gary, Goodrich,

and a couple of other schools in that area fielding 6-Man teams.

hadnt heard that but i work with a guyu from chester and they "he" wants to play 11 man

They have about 30 kids out.  They have also been successful in the past at 11 man football.

30 kids is plenty for varsity but it doesnt leave much for jv so the younger kids probably not playing much

It is encouraging to see they have 30 kids

on the roster that should be enough to

play 11-man, however they have had only

2 winning seasons since 1996 (2003, 2004, 6-4 each year)

and are 31-72 overall from 1996-2006.

I remember watching the game at Colmesneil in

2004 and Chester won convincingly 40-14

so they certainly have competed well at times in 11-man.
