Guest Jody Posted May 8, 2006 Report Posted May 8, 2006 Coop, BUD........you don't really want to open that can of worms do you?
KFDM COOP Posted May 8, 2006 Author Report Posted May 8, 2006 Proof's in the pudding right there!! :thumbsup
KFDM COOP Posted May 14, 2006 Author Report Posted May 14, 2006 I wonder if Permian will ever be as good as Year's past?
WOSgrad Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 Grad' date=' you have to agree![/quote'] And where did someone say that I disagreed? I'll scream from the highest mountain that WO-S is one of the top teams in the state. When I tell someone here in the Houston area that knows anything about football that I graduated from WO-S, eyes grow wide and the neck straightens up. It is really great work by WOS87, but it only confirms what we all already knew. P.S. Could you tell us when the list will be updated to reflect the new district affiliations of those on the list?
WOS87 Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 P.S. Could you tell us when the list will be updated to reflect the new district affiliations of those on the list? It already is updated on my original post. This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up
bigred75 Posted May 25, 2006 Report Posted May 25, 2006 When I tell someone here in the Houston area that knows anything about football that I graduated from WO-S, eyes grow wide and the neck straightens up. Thats a sign that they are about to pass out from standing there for hours listening to how great ya'll were in years past.....................Its like at a wedding when the groomsman pass out becasue they lock their legs from standing there so long......same reaction you get. Its not AWWWW your experiencing its ;omg AWWWW please will you stop talking so I can leave.............................
ESPN Posted May 25, 2006 Report Posted May 25, 2006 Still have the Highest Winning Percentage in all Classifications!! EVEN TODAY!!
BHFAN Posted May 25, 2006 Report Posted May 25, 2006 This could mean that historically WOS was really good or their competition wasn't. Maybe a combo of both
KFDM COOP Posted May 25, 2006 Author Report Posted May 25, 2006 They were pretty good. Even in 1985 when WOS was 5A they played the number 1 team in the Country Yates pretty dang close.
BHFAN Posted May 25, 2006 Report Posted May 25, 2006 They were pretty good. Even in 1985 when WOS was 5A they played the number 1 team in the Country Yates pretty dang close. Dang West of the Trinity teams
bigred75 Posted May 25, 2006 Report Posted May 25, 2006 Maybe we should fill it in with sand.....................or WOS ego either one will more than do the job hahaha.
Bigdog Posted May 26, 2006 Report Posted May 26, 2006 Its not really a relative comparison, actually. Some of those teams haven't played a quarter of the games that some of the others have. WOS has almost 200 less games than MOJO. Harker Heights has only played 60 games, where there are teams on there that have played almost 900. The percentages are going to be different.
KFDM COOP Posted May 26, 2006 Author Report Posted May 26, 2006 I tell you what Nederland should be very good again with that Backfield and QB..
Bigdog Posted May 26, 2006 Report Posted May 26, 2006 I am not intending this as a bash against any of those teams. WOS' record is very impressive, I am not contesting that. I'm just pointing out that because these are averages that are posted, that the teams with less games total have an advantage because it takes less wins to acheive a higher average. I was suggesting do averages for 500 games and above played for example or 500 games and under.
KFDM COOP Posted May 26, 2006 Author Report Posted May 26, 2006 WOS 87 does those, i see if he can do those..
Guest GoStangs Posted May 26, 2006 Report Posted May 26, 2006 the teams with less games total have an advantage because it takes less wins to acheive a higher average. Or, maybe they're at a disadvantage, since each loss has more of an impact on their percentage than teams with a lot of games... I think the point you're making is that a more accurate picture of a team's winning percentage is by comparing like-amount of games. That's a valid argument... To me, it's very impressive for WOS to be at the top of the list, but it will be more impressive if they can remain there for a long period of time. There was a lot of work put into getting them where they are, and they beat a bunch of solid teams along the way; hopefully, they can stay there for a long while.
Bigdog Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 yeah, thats what I was trying to say. It does work both ways against and for.
