Vidor @ Livingston

Yeah, I wouldn't put money on this game either, better yet I'm not making a prediction on this game, just hope Vidor can keep the momentum going into this game. Livingston has proven themselves overthe past few weeks that they compete and can't be overlooked as an easy win. But Vidor has shown that they're vulnerable but can make necessary adjustments and bounce back with a convincing win after two tough losses with injuries.

Livingston fumbles.  A lot.  They have recovered a lot so it hasn’t hurt them yet but over a long enough timeline....

Vidor plays physical defense so that problem might show up.

I think Livingston should and could win this game.  Ball bounces the right direction and Vidor might steal this game.

After last night, I'm taking Livingston.

How Vidor let Splendora beat them is a head scratcher.

The Lions offense continues to pick up yards in chunks and the defense has found the stops it needed.

If Vidor wins, we could have a messy scenario where Vidor, Splendora and Livingston all finish 3-2. Then we're looking at tiebreakers.

Vidor is going to have to max out. They don't have the firepower to do it.

27-21 Lions

It’s called missing 7 starters against Splendora. I think I’ll take Vidor in this one. Did Livingston all of sudden become the Mecca of High School Football?

No. But they finally got a team that can win a few games in a fairly weak district. Every dog has his day. Let em enjoy it.

Vidor doesn’t have to steal this game.... They’re just going to take it!

If the Pirates can play a clean ballgame last week, with minimal penalties, zero turnovers, and go thru the air often and early WITH success. I think Vidor can leave Livingston with the W. Our secondary is what scares me with the screen passes and the athletes that the Lions have... we don't contain and play disciplined assignment football it could be long night. But the same goes with Livingston's defense with the Shot/Slot-T.

Anyone has any season stats on Livingston from this season?

We’re playing the Livingston Lions not the Kansas City Chiefs! We’ll be alright. We have some athletes too!

Vidor is going to have to max out? And they don’t have the firepower to do it? You do realize that Livingston has been the live action, walking, talking epitome of suck the last decade right? I’d be worried about your firepower and the ability of your kids to max out. Do you honestly think there is no way the Pirates can show up at your place and roll your boys over?

That's weird, show us where anyone saying Livingston by as much as they want. Now 28pts is a blowout, I only see 1 person saying that and I don't think that person even believes that, Livingston wont have the ball for enough time to make it a blowout unless Vidor is just turning over the ball every other possession. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Exactly, we have athletes too and Mathews and the DC will put these kids in position to make the plays necessary to stop the screens cause I doubt they'll be able to run the ball in between the tackles all night.

I defer until further examination from an expert, someone who checks the coaching records. @Reaganmight just say it...

    • I don’t know about any rivalry there because I don’t live there but although LP and DP play in different classifications they still have a lot in common.  I mean, both beat Barber’s Hill this year!
    • I’m super excited for this game.  PNG has the team and game plan that will slow TH down.  No way we can stop them the entire game, but I feel if we slow them down we can win similar to what we did last year to Lake Creek and SOC.
    • Well Mustang fans it's time for my annual end of season rant. I've had so much company up here on the soapbox that I may have to start charging rent. After 3 years I don't think anything needs to be said. We all know what's wrong. We all know why. So what's the decision at the next board meeting? IMO, there's been enough imaginary success for the board to rubber stamp the Superintendent's vision for our future student athletes. #make every second count Due to soft scheduling and a weaker than normal district. The luck of knocking off 2 ranked opponents early when they were not healthy or still trying to figure it out. Also led to a premature ranking and a hollow DCTF weekly award. The 2 late season losses vs ranked teams proves what we know has been the biggest problem.  Football 19-15 .559 Baseball 9-35 .205 Basketball 19-35 .352 GBB 11-29 .275 Softball 1-22 .043 Volleyball 0-38 .000 Overall 59-174 .253   For anyone living in the district, I ask that you contact you're elected board members publicly and privately. Don't let them think this is exceptable. Be the solution to the equation. Not the divisor. This starts at the top and falls heavily upon those walking the halls. They deserve better.
    • I don't think it's 6-5 maybe 4-3
    • Sounds like a good idea, and something’s been needed for a long time. I know—where my kids & grandkids live now (DFW area)—schools are like revolving doors for athletic purposes. I don’t think the DPISD & LPISD option enrollment are anywhere like that. I assume it’s pretty above board since it was an arrangement apparently agreed to also by the state. I do know some kids that went to LPISD elementary schools in DP chose to go to DPHS because of the district rating. (Of course, at the time, DPISD and DP in general wasn’t very racially mixed like La Porte.) LPISD has a high number of kids on assistance programs compared to DP. Say what you will, it does make it more difficult for educational purposes and scores can reflect as much. LPISD is still rated high even with that challenge. Some of the kids that chose DPHS were very solid athletes that I’m sure LP would love to have had attend LPHS. Of course, part of the big rivalry between DP & LP has always been because DP ‘looked down’ on LP even though we worked side-by-side. Now that Shell DP refinery has been sold to PEMEX, DP is changing. Some aren’t happy about it. Some of us in LP are kinda tickled about it after the history.
