Dog4Life Posted September 20, 2007 Report Posted September 20, 2007 Thoughts and comments on this years Bulldog Baseball teams.
Guest WB42 Posted September 20, 2007 Report Posted September 20, 2007 Dogs have some talent returning. They have ten lettermen returning. Seniors: Ryan Sampere, Aaron McFarland, Reagan Stanley, Adam Broussard, Justin Richard; Juniors: Jordan Pitts, Jude Vidrine, Josh Dean, Trey Terracina. Sophomore: Kirby Bellow. With McFarland and Bellows healthy, the pitching corps should be strong with Sampere, Richard, and Dean having pitched successfully last year. The outfield will be solid with Stanley and Broussard being the leaders there. Need to find that third OF. Trey Terracina is the front runner for catcher. The infield could consist of a combination of Sampere, McFarland, Bellow, Pitts and Vidrine, depending on who's pitching. According to the papers Pitts(SS) and Vidrine(2B) had solid summers in the middle infield for the 16 Year Old Babe Ruth Tournament Team and both hit well. Pitts was named to the All World Series Team at SS. This is just an observation based on the players returning and where they played last year. They are a talented bunch and barring injury should be better than many would expect based on last years record. They'll just have to go out and prove it.
Dog4Life Posted October 2, 2007 Author Report Posted October 2, 2007 With all those returners, they ought to compete pretty good this year. Hopefully Sampere's injury wont linger. Looking forward to the season.
