82 5A State Champs Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 I'm going to go with Dayton in this one.....While Lumberton is a much better team than in years past, Dayton's experience in winning tough District games will pull them through. Should be a good game, though!
Guest oldplayer Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 Dayton 30 and and Lumberton 17...........Speed speed speed will hurt lumberton.....and Athletes athletes athletes will hurt them toooooo becasue dayton has both and Lumberton doesn't........and Mental toughness
vhs Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 Based on what I've read, I feel like Dayton should take this one. I'm just not sure Lumberton is prepared for district after playing in a 3a preseason.Dayton rolled through district last year and look to be a pretty sound team once again. They will be tough for anyone to beat.I say Dayton by 14.Good Luck to both teams.
dme1111 Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 dayton by 21. If lumberton is a good as they think they are then maybe they upset.

besbolbenbedygud Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 Dayton 42.........Lumberton 14
Yeoj Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 if Lumberton played in a 3A district they would probably contend for a playoff spot, but since their in 4A they wont. Dayton 35 Lumberton 14
texans Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 cougar fan I would pick lumberton too. Since dayton makes a living kicking the heck out of crosby
PURPLE 4EVER Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 Lumberton 21Dayton 17Typical "Cougar fan"....Since they almost never beat Dayton, they always root for someone else to do their work....
Guest maverick24 Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 OK now it is for real. I think this is a 6 point game either way. Since Dayton is favored by 41 points I will take Lumberton LOL. I think all will be suprised by Lumbertons speed.  I heard Dayton's coaches at the consession stand last night say they were suprised of the Raiders Size and Speed on Defense. I dont know about the players but I dont think the coaches will over look Lumberton. I am sure they will show up ready. I think if Dayton loses that it will mean Lumberton won the turnover battle. I also think Lumberton can lose this game and still have a good season. I am sure if  Lumberton loses everyone else will say same old Raiders I just hope the Players dont buy into that. Because I am a Raider fan I will say LUMBERTON 17  DAYTON 14 I will not be suprised if that score is reversed but I will be suprised if it is a Blow Out either way!!!!!
Guest FPHS 78 Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 man....I'd love to see Lumpy pull it out..but i think Dayton's got too much speed

texans Posted September 23, 2007 Report Posted September 23, 2007 I say Lumberton in a blowout after all they are 3-0 and Dayton is 1-2 losing to two sorry teams in WOS and Friendswood. Dayton must have got lucky against Nac. Nac could not even beat Lufkin.Â

Guest BIG HOUSE Posted September 23, 2007 Report Posted September 23, 2007 As a proud parent & Raider Fan, I think Lumberton will be more prepared for Dayton this year. That being said, I just hope our players get prepared for a war.Dayton always brings it.Our kids won't be as fast as Dayton,Central,LC-M,Nederland,PN-G,Ozen,or Vidor, but they will still show up every week to make war with their opponents!! :-*Everyone is probably right, Lumberton is slow and not very good. But we still love to support them!!!!! ;DAs for a prediction: I will say this will be a different game than last years.. 8)Good luck to Dayton and the RAIDERS......I know that our kids & coaches will come prepared to WIN this game.....

jake94 Posted September 23, 2007 Report Posted September 23, 2007 Dayton 35Lumberton 17Everyone is overreacting to the Raiders defense. They have played some very weak offenses thus far. They will get a taste of a real team this week and won't like it. Lumberton may be improved this season, but they aren't ready to run with the Broncos.
UKCats Posted September 23, 2007 Report Posted September 23, 2007 I agree Dayton has the better team, but momentum can definitely play a factor. Especially in high school football. Having said that I still take Dayton by 14, but hope its a great game.
