If Dan would leave soon, probably Cornell would step in. I don't see Coach Hooks leaving anytime soon, he can stay as long as his health takes him.

As far as successor, look for a former Mustang down the road to take over the helm.

AS long as health and want too will allow. Is he already retired from teaching and just coaching? That's what several Newton coaches have done.

I would love for Coach T to get that job, I'm just not sure how much longer he plans to coach. I DO think that, when that day does come, it is very important that the torch be passed to a Mustang or long time Mustang coach. Someone that understands what Mustang football is all about.

Dan Ray has checked out the lower grades so I am sure he is going to hang around for several more years! ;D  When he does step down, it will be a traumatic experience for the Mustang faithful as well as a sad day for the sportswriters of our area. ;)

P.S. - The zebras might have a little party, though!!!!! :D

Uh oh... the phantom "smite", that sucks.

I don't think Norton would come back here. He is having success at a large 4A school and I just can't see him stepping back into 3A, even if it is at WOS.

I agree but he would be a great choice if Coach T didn't want it.
