BearWolf Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 Is there a planned successor? What impact this may have on the WO-S football program if he decides to retire in the near future?
BearWolf Posted September 22, 2007 Author Report Posted September 22, 2007 they have to have a plan in place, after all this is a legendary program
adminbaberuth Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 If Dan would leave soon, probably Cornell would step in. I don't see Coach Hooks leaving anytime soon, he can stay as long as his health takes him.As far as successor, look for a former Mustang down the road to take over the helm.
BearWolf Posted September 22, 2007 Author Report Posted September 22, 2007 Cornell must be a good one
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 wonder if they would go after Coach Norton?
BearWolf Posted September 22, 2007 Author Report Posted September 22, 2007 I would go after all the big names and see who bites
Guest Eagle73 Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 AS long as health and want too will allow. Is he already retired from teaching and just coaching? That's what several Newton coaches have done.
kicker Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 I dont think he (Hooks) has teached in 20 years.
piratefan Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 I think they would hire the OC!!!!! ;D
Guest Chaingang Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 dude, that's not funny > 8)
mustang85 Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 There is only one person who could be the next head coach at WOS, and that is Coach T. He has been there at least since my freshman year in 1982. He deserves the job.
Gasilla Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 I would love for Coach T to get that job, I'm just not sure how much longer he plans to coach. I DO think that, when that day does come, it is very important that the torch be passed to a Mustang or long time Mustang coach. Someone that understands what Mustang football is all about.
WO-S 89 Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 I think Coach T has about 3 years left unless he would take over the head coaching job and then I believe he would stay longer.
whsalum Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 As long as he wants to.He already has the stadium named after him so it will be his call. ;)
swampdude Posted September 23, 2007 Report Posted September 23, 2007 Dan Ray has checked out the lower grades so I am sure he is going to hang around for several more years! ;D When he does step down, it will be a traumatic experience for the Mustang faithful as well as a sad day for the sportswriters of our area. P.S. - The zebras might have a little party, though!!!!!
Green and Bold Posted September 23, 2007 Report Posted September 23, 2007 wonder if they would go after Coach Norton?[/quoteWhy would Norton come back? I do not know but I don't think this is a job that he would even consider. Got a pretty good thing going where he is now.
Green and Bold Posted September 23, 2007 Report Posted September 23, 2007 Will one of the karma gods please explain to me what was negative about my prior post? ???
Gasilla Posted September 23, 2007 Report Posted September 23, 2007 Uh oh... the phantom "smite", that sucks. I don't think Norton would come back here. He is having success at a large 4A school and I just can't see him stepping back into 3A, even if it is at WOS.
