Five Questions with Meagan Adams

Meagan Adams is a junior outside hitter for the Lady Cardinals.

Question 1: During your sophomore season you were coming off of shoulder surgery which caused you to change your game a little. How has dealing with that problem helped you as a player?

Answer: Last year I didn't play as much because of my shoulder injury, but coach Gibert taught me how to work on roll shots, deep tips and hitting off the block, shots that would be effective but not hurt my shoulder in the process. I think it helped me because now I have my power back and I can mix it in with the shots that I added to my game last year.

Question 2: What do you think is the biggest difference for this team compared to last season?

Answer: The difference between this team as last year's team is that we are a lot more mature. We have a group of seniors and juniors that have experience, and our sophomores are playing at the same level as the juniors. The freshman have also come in and started playing a big role for us. Our depth is so much better than it has been which makes us so much more dynamic.

Question 3: When you are not on the volleyball court, what do you like to do for fun?

Answer: Fishing, hunting, dancing and anything that has to do with being outdoors. I just like to be outdoors.

Question 4: What do you think this team is capable of accomplishing this season and what are your expectations?

Answer: I think this our strongest team so far. Right now we're working on not just winning, but going into a match thinking that we're going to win and that we have the potential to win. During the pre season we have learned how to win and built up our confidence. With conference starting this week I think we're going to come out on fire and hopefully keep it going all year.

Question 5: If you could change places with any teammate of yours, who would it be and why?

Answer: I would like to trade places with Molli Abel because she brings a lot of energy to the court with the way she plays and with her attitude. I've never been able to do that. I've always brought just the playing side to the court and I think having the energy and positive attitude would be great. I really respect that part of Molli's game.
