Who would you say is qualified to be the HC/AD currently within the program?

Depends on your qualifications. If you want someone with previous experience and winning record then obviously nobody within the program.

But every HC has to start somewhere. And I don’t see us getting many big name applications.

Coach Hopson is the girls athletic director I believe, so I’m sure he has his name in the hat.

I think if you look at Larry’s total record as a head coach there are more losses than wins. I agree that he is a good offensive coach, but defenses were always horrible and probably one of the most arrogant people I have ever talked with

Larry?

That totally answers my question. Keep taking applications til you can fill the spot.

More like keep adding onto that salary number until you can get someone to take the bait. Cause you and I both know we won’t get anybody “qualified” at our pay rate

Girls AD? Probably be better to hire your head baseball or basketball coach.

He’s coached football as well for years. He might not even want it but i was just throwing it out there as probably the only person on staff that would be actually qualified. Other than that it would be first time head coaches. But, as I said, you gotta start somewhere

He’s one of the best offensive coaches in the state and that looks like he’s a above .500 coach coaching at some big schools.

I was just messing with you. I figured he was at least a part of the football program.

What about the hometown boy coaching a little north of town? You think he can do it?

Maybe so. It will almost have to be a hometown guy. Considering our past, talent level, pay rate, etc

To heck with a new head coach. Don’t make the same mistake Nederland did in the mid-90’s. After a few years of not much success, someone came up with the wild idea to go outside to an untested long time assistant coach. They hired some guy named Larry Neumann.

I could have told them that it would never work but they didn’t ask me. Stay inside and keep the paperwork in order. That is the way to move forward!!

Normally I would agree, but the current options are limited in my opinion.

Can't believe there are no rumors floating around about who is interviewing.

You’d think there would be something circulating. Other schools around this area would have names from all over applying. Any 2a or 3a coaches around worth taking a shot at?
