My cousin’s son is a freshman at harleton and got to suit up for the game.  I told them it would be bad, but didn’t expect it to be THIS bad.

Well, of course it's going to be both!!  Geez, how many 3AD2 teams can get on the field and play with WOS and Jasper!  Of course, the competition is weaker when you go from playing 2 teams that are ranked and 2 divisions bigger than you down to schools your own size.  Come on man!! 

However, they do seem to be getting better every week.

after seeing newton beat WOS the past few seasons, then get throttled the way they did against them this year gave me doubts lol...but they are killing people now

I'm pretty sure there aren't many 4 seeds in the playoffs that could upset a 1 seed across the state. That's probably what happened here seeing how it played out.

Newton got a late start. School shut down from hurricane and no elect. Finally had one scrimmage then shut down again when one coach tested positive for covid. We were not ready to play yet but had no choice but to get started anyhow.
