hdbasketballstar Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 I like seeing a coach take up for a player to the media. Thats awesome.
BMTSoulja1 Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 That's what they get. And I completely agree with everything he said. I'm all for a coach makeing someone from the media look like a jackass, everytime!
Guest ndn09 Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 You are BMTsoulja because me too I would too make him look like a fool in front of everybody.
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 he let whoever it was have it!
Guest ndn09 Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 Go adminbaberuth I like that comment Grandstanding IMO I like ur comment.
2throwrundown Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 I agree, a little over the top. But understandable
Guest kosmo Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 It may be grandstanding or over the top, but I guarantee it will be effective.
dayton Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 You are BMTsoulja because me too I would too make him look like a fool in front of everybody.Go adminbaberuth I like that comment Grandstanding IMO I like ur comment. ??? ??? ???trying to get that karma higher?
Bucster Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 It may be grandstanding or over the top, but I guarantee it will be effective. Gundy screwed himself and his football team with his tirade. The news media will make him look like a fool over this incident.BTW ..... i can't stand Jenni Carlson who was the target of Gundy's tongue lashing but I have read the article in question and I found nothing offensive in it. IMO Gundy overreacted and his program will suffer for it.
f150craig Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 Offensive or not, Coach took a stand for his kids. These guys are not pro's, so why does the media feel the need to attack there actions?
gringo Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 "Gundy screwed himself and his football team with his tirade. "I don't think so - he stood up for his player !
dav-joel Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 I saw the coach's press conference and his tirade. It is great to see a coach stick-up for the team and call out the press when they cross the line. But after reading the article, I thought it was insulting and a little berating, but it wasn't at all what I was expecting. There must have been (obviously) a lot more brewing than just the one article.Way to go coach, you must have feel better now and hopefully the press will not make personal attacks on student athletes when they are down.
eagle_sports Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 i respect what he did... he took up for his kids, sure maybe some things were not right inside the team but that is not the players fault... what he did was the sign of a true coach
24 over par Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 glad to see coach defend his kids, press sometimesw think no one is off limits personal attacks under the name of reporting are never good,
cardinal81o7 Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 im just waiting on the Coors light coach conference commercial!!!
westend1 Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 Defending his kids his fine, but, I don't think that these high school athletes are coming home crying over some newspaper article. We are not talking about 8 year olds. if the kid screwed up, he knows it and I'm sure he feels he let his team down. Criticism is part of the deal. That risk is what makes it exciting. Coach doesn't need to defend him, he just needs to make the play next time. JMO
BMTSoulja1 Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 im just waiting on the Coors light coach conference commercial!!!LOL.
txstar Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 I think Gundy did the right thing! Most of the media (not all) are liberal quacks! And how does this reporter have any knowlege of football? She let her alligator mouth overload her hummingbird butt! She is just trying to make a name for herself in the liberal media, so she can get hired by PMSNBC or the ultra liberal kooks at CBS. She ranks down there with Rather, Colbert, etc. Have a good week
Wise Guy Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 I think that he did the right thing by standing up for Bobby Reid.
KFDM COOP Posted September 25, 2007 Author Report Posted September 25, 2007 Now the reporter is fighting back!http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news?slug=ap-oklahomast-gundy&prov=ap&type=lgns
