Sobriquet Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 Who won the game? The team that had the most points on the scoreboard when time expired? Or the other team that put the ball in the end zone on the last play of the game, but had the touchdown disallowed by a really bad call by the refs?Note: It wasn’t a close call. The player was clearly in the end zone and it’s incomprehensible how any of the officials could have thought otherwise.
westend1 Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 Just look at the fans reactions, that will tell you who won
td Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 That's easy the team that had the most points on the scoreboard when time expired. Let's say using your scenario that the game had to be won to go to the playoffs. It's unfortunate for the team that got the bad call but their season is over. The other team won the game and they wil move on.

What game??Paul Harvey wants to know - What is the rest of the story?
Sobriquet Posted September 25, 2007 Author Report Posted September 25, 2007 I must be missing something ??? What game??Paul Harvey wants to know - What is the rest of the story? One of the bowl games, several years ago. Penn State got the benefit of the bad call. Don't recall who the other team was.
Roll_Left15 Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 Here's the same question.......who won last year??Oregon or Oklahoma??
tvc184 Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 Who won the game? The team that had the most points on the scoreboard when time expired? The team with the most points on the boards. What does it matter if the bad call was the last play of the game or if it was in the first quarter? Bad calls happen. There is no philosophical victory. That is akin to the "moral" victory that people talk about for playing a better game than expected but still lose.
Guest sneaky Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 the team with the most points on the score board wins the game!! NO EXCUSES!! panda bear rules!!!
dav-joel Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 There are moral and philosophical victories, yes. Usually when you are a tremendous underdog, totally outclassed on paper and your team plays WAAAAY UPPP and it doesn't get ugly.In YOUR example the team that has the most points on the board at the end of the game wins period. Bad calls are a part of the game. It just happens. Always has and always will.
besbolbenbedygud Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 The team with the most points wins......any coach will tell you 'one play' or 'one bad call' does not win or lose a game.........as bad as it would be to swallow in the end.......the guys in strips are judge and jury.....live and learn and avoid being in those situations......TCB!!!
BadMedicine Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 Bad calls are part of the game. Just like dropped passes or fumbles.
Sobriquet Posted September 25, 2007 Author Report Posted September 25, 2007 I understand there's something called "reviewing a call." Has something to do with looking at video's.Could someone explain to me what it means?
