Lamar enrollment increases

From the Beaumont Enterprise:

Lamar University fall enrollment rose 4.8 percent from last year, nearly returning the student count to the level seen before Hurricane Rita.

The official enrollment on the 20th class day was 10,379, just slightly below the 10,595 enrollment of fall 2005.

This is good news for Lamar, especially if they bring back football.  I think there's now over 4,000 students living on or next to the campus, compared to less than a 1,000 back in 2000.

Great news for the University. Then Coachacola is correct about the number of students living near the school. Hopefully, this will help with student involvement in events (athletic and non-athletic) and improved school spirit.
