Getting blamed for a players mistake comes with the profession they chose. The players are kids who do not get paid, they are not like NFL players who have to take their own responsibility.

Coaches are grown men, who do get paid, some even get paid richly. Grown men "man up" and take responsibility for the product that takes the field on their watch.

So obviously your philosophy is a coach can never take credit but should always get the blame.

Got it.

After watching Westerberg blow that game against Nederland anything can happen. He definitely didn't earn his Money in the fourth quarter ahead by 8 and Nederland on their own 16 yard line 4th and 22 and get beat on a long Hail Mary Pass.It looked like he was in single coverage. You just can't get beat in that situation.

Just saying Westerberg is so glorified on this website to not have made a better adjustment to stop a 4th and 22 in that situation.

I think the complaint is not that the defender was beaten but that they should have been in a deep prevent defense with almost 100 yards to go and one play to do it.

no one is blaming the coach for the safety not guarding the receiver. He should of had help! Put your defense in the position to defend is the complaint. 4th and forever and a stop ends the game, they weren’t going to run it up the middle, Ned has two big playmakers in that situation #10 and big boy that took it to the house. If you want to blame it on a 16 year old safety and hold the coach unaccountable go for it.

No, you are looking at it backwards. Coaches already DO get the credit (and pay) when sucess happens, so, to be fair, they likewise have to shoulder the responsibility and blame when things go wrong. Thats what adults have to do in life.

Coaches can't just accept the wins and dump the losses on the kids. Sorry Mr. Aggie, but they can't have it both ways.

I know many teams that will gladly take Westerberg if he all of a sudden can’t coach and y’all are tired of him...

No one is tired of him you bunch of ding dongs😂 y’all must have all voted for Biden!  The man is a good coach, but you expect better coverage in the situation being discussed.

Not having seen the game, I know that teams work on prevent defenses.  If anything was messed up, it falls on the DC.  But ultimately it's the HC's responsibility.  Everybody knows where the buck stops.
