Agreed, lack of size lead to Silsbee getting out rebounded by a lot, but should be better with the additions of Jayce Jones and Jayron Williams

I look for Jacey J" to step up and use his size this year.! He didn't take any pushing around on the football team from anyone this year.

Off to an 0-3 start with all bad loses, is Silsbee ranked or were they ranked this season? Looking at West Brook, BUx2, and some other tough games on the schedule. The Tigers will probably have a very deceiving record once district play starts. I’m sure they will be fine, just curious where they stand at this point of the season.

Thank you for the info, not trying to be disrespectful at all but they do have a very challenging pre-district schedule. Lufkin could also be a tough game but you would expect a team with as much success as Silsbee to build a hard schedule. Especially when compared to the other district teams, I’m sure it will serve them well once district play comes. They will be a battle tested district favorite but probably have a worse record than some of the other top teams.

Silsbee started out last year 0-3, losing 9 of their first 14 games. Silsbee ended up losing a total of 13 games last year, yet still managed to get #1 seed in district and make regional tourney.

I realize this is a different team, much younger team. But with HJ and HF out of the district for two years, I can see this group winning district again and making a few rounds in playoffs.

They will still probably lose 10 or more games again.

A good head coach is a prized possession.  I'm not talking about any particular coach.  You have to evaluate a coach over his or her total career.  A lot of variables go into winning and winning big.  You have to have talented and motivated players.  There is no such thing as born basketball players.  You can't lift weights and run sprints to get the.  A player has to spend time learning muscle memory, stuff like that. Science is built on math.  Probably statistics, genetics, economics. What I'm trying to say is if a high school program is consistently blowing out the opposition year in and year out.  Decade in decade out you can be sure something sideways is going on somewhere.  I am not calling no names, or even what sport.  Just call them the usual suspects.  So, if a prominent program goes down that says that program is pretty much walking straight.  If and when that program gets back up, (throw if out, when)  the fans can truly appreciate that.
