The Bulldogs will be too much for the Texans.
Was no surprise China Spring was no contest for Carthage, they should have never been there , but in the year of Covid strange things have happened.  A healthy  WOS would have given Carthage a decent game, but Carthage is just to well put together for 4A.

Healthy WOS might have kept it within 2-3 TDs. Carthage is just that good. They will name their score vs Wimberly

Depends on what you call a decent game.

IMO , WOS defense would slow down the Carthage scoring machine, but not stop it. On the other hand Carthage defense would shut down WOS offense unless pop had the game of his high school career throwing it. The only way WOS opens up the running game would be to be extremely successful throwing it. Score would be 28 - 7. But we will never know.

Anybody have an opinion on the trick play China Spring ran against Carthage.  From a punt formation the center hiked the ball and held it until a back came by and grabbed it and ran in for a score.  Does the center have to hike it to somebody or can he hike it and hold it?

Totally legal. He did hike it, technically, to the back that took it from his hands. He could even set it on the ground and the guard pick it up and run with it (guard around).

Is guard around still legal? I thought you couldn't put it on the ground anymore...

I think this is legal, basically the same as snapping it to a back in a "Wildcat" situation.

Think I heard guard around is no longer legal.  In this case he hiked it and held it long enough for the player to come get it.  There was a pause when he held it.
