Coldspring Bball cancelled

Coldspring cancelled all sports until January 4th. Schools closed until January 4th covid-19 related

Man I hate to see this. I know it’s done in the best interest of the kids. I sure hope they get this virus under control before the UIL starts canceling seasons again.

There have been quite a few schools cancel games in the area.  Makes it hard when the teams restart also.  

I agree hopefully the UIL doesn't step in.

It sucks but it’s a good decision if necessary. Hopefully CS can reschedule the district games they miss during this time frame.

That would depend on the rules set out by the DEC.  Unlike football, there may be opportunities to make up these games.

The fortunate thing is that Coldspring has only 1 district game (12/22 vs. Onalaska) in that time period.

Their next district game after that is 1/5 at Trinity.

This stinks. I would think they could make up the game on a Saturday or the next day after district play is over if it has bearing on the standings.

Our dec is not doing forfeits we worked it all out this summer. Everything is just postponed and will be made up at later date. We luckily have very good coaches in our basketball district to prevent forfeits from happening unless it’s literally at the end of the year up against the certification date
