Jaques, a 2007 graduate of Bridge City High School, also leads theSeahawks in steals with a perfect 10-for-10.Sophomore first baseman Brooke Teal from Vidor is second with a .478batting average, followed by .375 by utility player Jessica Tapp fromAnahuac and pitcher Shauna Kelly from Nederland.Lamar State plays Saturday in the University of Texas-Dallas FallTournament.The Seahawks will face Cisco Junior College, Paris Junior Collegeand UT-Dallas.The Seahawks were shut out 11-0 by Paris on Sept. 15 at the BossierParish Community College Tournament in Bossier City, La.After this weekend, the Seahawks won't compete again until Saturday,Oct. 12, when they host Louisiana State University-Eunice in a doubleheaderthat begins at 2 p.m. at Martin Field, 1000 Lakeshore Drive on the LamarState campus.Lamar State travels to the University of Houston Fall Tournament onOctober 20.The Seahawk begins their spring schedule Feb. 7, with a homedoubleheader against the Temple College Leopards, who were ranked No. 14 inthe nation at the end 2007 spring campaign. The first conference game willbe March 2 at Blinn College in Brenham.
