Wise Guy Posted September 30, 2007 Report Posted September 30, 2007 Finally, another Highlight Reel WR has arrived at Nederland. First we had Sean Yoder, then Jake Askew and Josh Atterberry, and perhaps the brightest and most talented of the names mentioned, Ryan "Riverboat Gambler" Butler. And now the Nederland faithful may sit back and enjoy what seems to be the next fleet-footed flanker of the Bulldogs, #21 Asa Cardenas. The kid is putting up some killer numbers this year. In the Vidor game alone he had 8 catches for 133 yards and 2 TD's, and he also threw a TD. I tend to believe that he has 6 TD receptions in 4 games. If I may pose a question, "Matt Johnson who?". But I get ahead of myself and digress from my point.Asa will have a challenge this week with a very speedy and greedy Jaguar secondary. We can only wait and see what the jack of all trades will bring October 5th at BMT Central.
SFA85 Posted September 30, 2007 Report Posted September 30, 2007 Over/under coverage on Cardenas plus the youngster won't get time to throw. Gonna be a long night for the Dogs.....
WTB Posted September 30, 2007 Report Posted September 30, 2007 I think if yall had Matt Johnson he would be the "next in line"
babyshoe Posted September 30, 2007 Report Posted September 30, 2007 that name sounds like a plate at casa ole'. i'll have the Asa Cardenas please. and a cherry Dr. Pepper.
BMTSoulja1 Posted September 30, 2007 Report Posted September 30, 2007 Yea, that WR is a handful, but we have a good secondary, and may not have to double cover Cardenas. Just like 85 said, your going to have a hard time finding him when Bellows will have beasts breathing down his back all night.
tvc184 Posted September 30, 2007 Report Posted September 30, 2007 Finally, another Highlight Reel WR has arrived at Nederland. First we had Sean Yoder,.....Actually if you want to start naming Nederland's run of good receivers, I think it starts with Eric Cammack and then Yoder.
Bigdog Posted September 30, 2007 Report Posted September 30, 2007 The only thing about it is we throw around to several receivers.
Piratediehard Posted September 30, 2007 Report Posted September 30, 2007 The only thing about it is we throw around to several receivers.Yes you do! its not just asa, its broussard and all the others. Kirby was on fire and if he cant throw he'll run and do it well. Dont count out bass either. I was really impressed by the soph. QB.
jake94 Posted September 30, 2007 Report Posted September 30, 2007 I am liking the soph QB more and more every game. He makes good decisions and throws a good ball. I will agree with everyone though that Central's defense will be his toughest test to date.
