I'm sure that Gilmer's got a quality team because it seems like they always do, but they're going to have to be flawless and then get some breaks to win this game. Carthage is just unreal.

No doubt we have our hands full. We have seen them in person already.  We gonna need some fortunate bounces and a little luck. But you can't win if your not playing.  We will take our chances.

No doubt the best 2 teams are playing.  If anyone can do it, it would be Gilmer.  Tradition, athletes, and desire.  Personally, if I like to root for the underdog when I don't have a reason not to.  Hope the game is as good as the one you had in the finals with Jasper.

We have to put together 2 halfs like the 1st one against Graham. That may have been the best half of football we have played all year. Well maybe the 42 point 3rd quarter we put on Lindale might be the best. Anyway we followed one of the best halves we have had with a very uninspired 2nd half.  Blame it on looking ahead,  I don't know. But what I do know is that won't work on Friday.

Plus Carthage QB might not be healthy. 
 

Carthage dominated back in December. Both teams are different animals now. Gilmer is a product of PG not being healthy this season. 
 

One more thing, never bet against a man who has more state titles than playoff losses.

Gilmer's 1st year head coach has been a part of their program for over 20 years. Good thing for them they didn't bring in someone new.

The Dawg defense has an opportunity to show the entire state just how really special they are on the biggest stage. 
I believe Kip 6ft 3in 195 pounds (number 5) we be one of the nations top linebackers by the end of his senior year. He is the heart of a defense that has totally dominated every team they have faced. 
The Dawg D line pounded Gilmer in the first meeting and had the QB running for his life. 
I believe Gilmer coaches will try and get the ball out of his hands a lot quicker when passing. 
The Dawg secondary have 23 interceptions because they play like wide receivers, always looking for the ball. They are special because they can fly and will hit like linebackers. 
The D linemen have a super fast first step when the ball is snapped and have put a lot of pressure on QB’s and running backs. 
The linebackers run sideline to sideline and they are angry when the get to the ball. 
Definitely the fastest defense the Dawgs have ever had. 
If The Dawg offense plays sound fundamental football they will win. 
Cannot turn the ball over multiple times against a very good Gilmer team. 
Dawgs win by 14

It will be won at the line of scrimmage.if Gilmer can't slow them down with this run game.it will take alot to beat them. Gilmer is better. And believe it will be closer than most ppl think.

Just so yall know, when I leave the game I'm going straight west for 2 weeks deer hunting........except for Christmas,  dang it have to come home for Christmas.  But if we were to happen to pull this thing off, I'm gonna have a lot of time to smack talk from the deer stand. 🤣

I found that game on YouTube about a year ago. It was definitely a classic, but I don't know that I'll get over it any time soon. We were sooo close!
