KFDM COOP Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 LC-M set for PN-GOrange Leader SportsThe Orange LeaderLITTLE CYPRESS — A big time showdown in District 22-4A will take place tonight at Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School.The Lady Bears will play host to the Port Neches-Groves Rock-A-Noos in a battle between the district’s top two teams.PN-G is on top of the standings with a perfect 8-0 mark and is also 17-8 overall this year. LC-M is alone in second place with a 6-2 mark and is overall 16-12.The Lady Bears defeated Beaumont Central Friday in five games by scores of 25-14, 14-25, 25-15, 12-25 and 15-8. Sophomore Christine Sicktich had 19 kills, 18 assists and 10 digs to lead the way for LC-M.PN-G is fresh off a four-game victory over Beaumont Ozen on Friday. The Rock-A-Noos won 25-18, 23-25, 28-26 and 25-21. PN-G was led by Sami Jo Williams who had 12 kills and nine digs.In other District 22-4A action, the Vidor Lady Pirates will look to win their first district game when traveling to Lumberton.The No. 1 team in District 21-3A, the Bridge City Lady Cardinals, will look to stay perfect in district action tonight when they hit the road to face the West Orange-Stark Lady Mustangs.Bridge City (14-10, 7-0) took down the Hardin-Jefferson Lady Hawks Friday in four games and notched its 14th District 21-3A win in a row.Audrey Myers led the way with 15 kills and 10 digs while sophomore Emily Kosh had 31 assists and Jenna Angelle had 15 digs and Lauren Angelle had 11 digs.Orangfield, who was swept by Silsbee Friday, will also be on the road to face Hardin-Jefferson. The Lady Bobcats are 10-14 overall and 3-4 in district play.On Friday both LC-M and Bridge City will be in big district matches when the Lady Bears travel to face Beaumont Ozen and the Lady Cardinals play host to the Silsbee Lady Tigers.Also on Friday Orangefield will play host to Jasper, Dayton will venture to Vidor and WO-S will travel to Kirbyville.
