Silsbee athleticism bit too much.but I very impressed how orangefield played within themselves.both will get better.and orangefield will make the playoffs.

That’s the problem with playing Silsbee.  Even without the supremely skilled, seasoned players they’ve had the past several years, they still will athlete you to death.  And with the numbers Sig throws at you, it’s hard not to eventually just get worn down.

Silsbee freshman Harris and Miller lead the team.

Harris - 18pts 5asts

Miller - 16pts 7rebs

Gilder - 11pts 4asts

Harper 11pts 4asts

Baltrip - 10pts 6 stls

That is well balanced effort.

Van Wade with the Orange Leader had Baltrip with 12 boards as well.  A lot of balance in those numbers.

I don’t think this is a bad effort from the Cats though and as DJ says above, they have a great shot at making the playoffs.

Turnovers, rebounding, and free throws killed the Bobcats tonight.  Props goes out to the Silsbee players.  Their effort and intensity caused those issues.  Bobcats hung within striking distance up until the last 4-5 minutes of the game, but couldn't get a shot to fall to get to single digits.  Bobcats big three all had double figures (Wrinkle-19, Bergeron-15, and Ragusa-10).  Good luck to both teams as they continue district.

Keep in mind this is only Miller's second basketball game at the varsity level.

Harris reminds me a lot of a former Silsbee kid who was also a 6`1 freshman a few short years ago. I believe that kid is doing well for himself these days.

Bottley is also playing well for a freshman.

Got two tough games coming up. One of them is a for sure loss. I just want us to compete better though. The other might be winnable.

If it is the same person he transferred to a JC recently, but he is still in the game.

I stood next to both Adams and McCain as sophomores at the Fort Bend Tourney talking to them. They were about 6'2 each. Devon grew much taller than most thought. Mike his brother is about 6'1 but Devon is a good 6'4.
