Houston adds east coast point...

Tom Penders and his Houston staff have added one of the east's quickest point prospects...

According to a source close to the program, and confirmed by the Herlad-Leader, the Houston Cougars have received a commitment from 5-foot-9 speedster Desmond Wade from Linden, NJ.

The quick point averaged 17 points and 5 assists as a junior for the perennial New Jersey Linden High. He is extremely quick in open court or off dribble drive. He has ability to overcome size question with his aggressive style on both ends. He's an excellent defender who averaged 4 steals a game.

He chose Houston over interest from Iona and Geore Mason, and was just starting to see some Big East interest, but felt the Cougars were the right place for him in the future.
