what do you have?

I don't know what officially constitutes a fumble, but EC mishandled many balls. Talking around in the stands this came up, most people thought it was either 5 or 6. Just asking: if a pitchout is muffed, then the back covers it before being downed for a loss, is that statistically a fumble, even though a defensive player never touched it?

Hats off to the Pirates! What a game for 3 Qtrs. They need to play like that the rest of the season and who knows. Defense was very good! #72 for the Pirates was a WILD MAN on defense. The best single effort I have seen in awhile. Offense is lacking a OC. JMO Great effort Pirates! Good luck Bucs on the rest of the season.

Yes there seemed to be quite a bit more than 3, with that said, what a game to watch, both teams played hard and never gave up, typical DV vs. EC game, #1 is as good as advertised, super quick, and he picked up a bunch of critical 3rd and long's and seemed to be everywhere on defense.  DV needs to come out and play this hard the rest of the year, and please DV, play your best players on BOTH sides of the ball, we are not a 4a or 5a team that has that depth to have a complete off and def.

Deweyville was not wore down. Every single player played with heart and intensity throughout the entire game...we played hard with a top 20 team (sounds to me like you are more of a baseball man) :-\

Your right about the outstanding effort that Deweyville put out friday night, In my oppinion some players had the game of their life ie.(Heath) and everyone played an intense game,;but, When a team like Deweyville dresses out 19 players, and all but a few have to play both ways against a top rate physical team like EC , you can't help but start to get physicaly spent after awhile. I'ts not a slam on Deweyville players, it wouldn't matter what team had to play both ways for a whole game. This is where being a bigger school, with more players like EC has the advantage. But this may all change next year with re-alignment?

    • I too, wish #15 was healthy and playing.  And also another RB (can't recall the #), who went down in the first game of the season. But, some others have stepped up and are hard runners.  I'm really looking forward to watching this game.
    • Still, from what little I saw, it should have been a much closer game.  WOS was missing some fundamentals on defense, and a lack of imaginative play calling on offense.  Just my opinion as an objective observer on Texan Live, which was horrible btw, but that's another story.
    • Either way,one game lead in the series. I rely to much on word of mouth
    • West Orange Stark has been a powerhouse since I csn remember. At some point, your bound to fall off to some degree. Alabama has 3 or 4 loses this season. Who would have thought? Has Orange lost kids to LCM or even Orangefield?
    • Interesting matchup this Friday. Both teams have very good offensive and defensive lines, which will make this game interesting. Having watched Texas High all season, they have a wide open offense with very good skill players. If you look at their stats they run the ball 57% of the time and pass 43% of the time. Personally, that is a bit deceiving, as most of their games have seen reserves running the ball in the 4th quarter. I would estimate the primary offense is 50/50. Through 12 games they have run for 3,224 yds (48tds) and passed for 2,894 yds (32 yds). Potter, the Tiger QB, has been very efficient with a 69% completion rate and 1 interception (which came from a tipped pass). The passing is distributed primarily to 4 receivers…. Ball (865), Wrightner (811), Montgomery (532), & Pilgreen (392). The rushing comes from 3 running backs … Johnson (1,432), Ball (768) & Moore (716).  The Tiger defense is solid and very quick.    Hope #15 is healthy enough to play. He is a test for any defense. I was concerned about the Nederland RB, but felt Texas High did a good job containing him. I wish this game was in the afternoon, as Nachitoches is having their Festival of Lights and their will not be any rooms in the inns and restaurants will be full so plan accordingly. PNG are state champions until someone knocks them off, so I extend the Indians the respect they deserve. Pulling for the Tigers.
