Typical for them to sit on a lead like that. My only thing is I do NOT understand why you keep throwing and stopping the clock late in the fourth quarter.  On the 2 drives before the last possesion they used about 30 seconds of clock where they could have easily eaten up almost 2 minutes per possession. Central had one time out left. WHY do you not run the ball, go 3 and out running and punt if nothing else. I think it was almost a catastrophe.

A win is a win but as I said in my post before the second half started, I had a feeling it was going to come down to an end like this, I was holding my breath. Very dangerous game of chicken they played tonight.

I was proud to see that Central did not quit, they played hard and almost pulled off an incredible comeback.

its simple, 2 reasons:

1. thats you guys offense.

2. The score got too close for Larrys liking. (if you catch my drift)  ;)

We actually ran the ball okay.  But when there are two minutes left, you burn as much clock as you can.  Game ball to the punter for pinning Central back twice at the end of the game.

Lots of armchair quarter backs would say if Nederland tried to run out the clock and go 3 and out... why do that, you've been throwing all night.  Don't go into the prevent offense... you have to dance with what brung ya.  We won by two scores against a good football team... please be happy folks... that was a great win.  It is so dang easy to second guess... I enjoy it to.. but please enjoy the win... it was a big one.

    • I like option number two, PNG and Nederland both win. Nederland i’ll be the district champion, number 1 seed or whatever you want to call it. Yes I know that if two or three teams tie with the same record, they will be called co-champions and everyone gets a trophy. One team however will go in as the first place team in district and will play the fourth place team in the bi-district round. If PNG and Nederland both win, Nederland will be #1. • Virginia has same day voter registration. A person can literally walk in to the voting location, register and then vote. So the premise that Virginia might be stopping people with a legitimate right to vote is nonsense. From what I gather in the news report, assuming that the ones I have read are correct, the people that were removed, filled out a drivers license registration and marked that they were not an American citizen. Could the person have made a mistake bychecking the box incorrectly? Although unlikely it is certainly possible. That same person who was removed can go into the same voting location where he would have voted and again, complete a voter registration and then vote.  That went into the Supreme Court’s decision.  If such a person votes by registering on election day, he fills out a provisional ballot. Provisional ballots are not originally counted and or not counted unless needed. For example….  Statewide there are 500 provisional ballots cast. A person wins the election by 4,000 votes. That would be no need to count the provisional ballots as it will not matter. Then let’s say there are 5,000 provisional ballots cast in the election. One candidate then wins the election by only 1,500 votes. In that case, the election could definitely swing on those provisional ballots. The state will then investigate each person to make sure they live at the correct address listed and that they are American citizens. If these things are correct, the vote will then be counted. Safe Harbor is not untillll…… I think December 17th this year so there will be six weeks to verify the provisional ballots if needed. The purging of the names of people who checked a state form saying that they were not an American citizen, will not stop that same person from voting.
