KFDM COOP
http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcon...ned.d839ce.htmlHigh school football player burned while siphoning gas 11:22 AM CDT on Sunday, October 7, 2007Associated Press MESA, Ariz. – A high school football player from Chandler suffered third-degree burns on 30 percent of his body after he tried to siphon gas from an inoperable car, according to the boy's coach. Chandler High School football coach Jim Ewan said Dion Jordan and his friends were trying to remove the gas Saturday to put into a vehicle that was working. But a fire ignited and burned Jordan up and down both arms and shoulders and from his knees to his toes. He was rushed to the burn unit at Maricopa County hospital in Phoenix. Chandler athletic director Dave Shapiro said Jordan likely will be hospitalized at least a month for skin grafts and related care for the burns. Ewan said Jordan was in good spirits, and his aunt, Yative Tiger, told Ewan her nephew was able to move fingers and toes. Jordan is a standout receiver and defensive end who has been recruited by Stanford, Nebraska and Southern California, among others.
