justafan1 Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 Go to you tube and search for Freshman Kicker. I would post the link, but don't know how. Let me know what you think of this kid and what you think he needs to work on to get better. If someone can post the link I would appreciate it.

justafan1 Posted October 9, 2007 Author Report Posted October 9, 2007 I could really use some feedback on this. He is a SETX player. Please if anyone sees anything he can change or improve on let me know.
stevieray Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 It looks like he really has a strong leg....check your PM
kicker Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Yep, strong leg, but needs some technique. Thats the easy part. Ill call you after your meeting today. There were two things I saw right off the bat that would probably increase his distance by ten yards. Two easy things.
justafan1 Posted October 10, 2007 Author Report Posted October 10, 2007 Thanks for the pm I will be out of the meeting at 4Â
Guest WBFan09 Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 Stretch his leg out some more get more flexibility...help him out with his follow through and i see nothing wrong
Guest orangeman Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 Speaking of kickers... I've got an 8th grader who kicked a 47 yarder this year. I know that's not relative to SE Texas since I'm in Belton now, but it's extremely impressive. Very powerful young kid. The kid in the You Tube video looks like he's got a bright high school career ahead of him. Good luck.
bullets13 Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 does he kick field goals too? i used to kick, and know a couple of things you can do to improve accuracy.
Kelly Fan Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 Well if you want to look at someone who is doing pretty good so far and has good technique--- i have been watchin this kid close this year and he is doin an excellent job... My son showed me this link you can watch him kick from many competitions he did this summer.www.iplayers.net/players/288
justafan1 Posted October 11, 2007 Author Report Posted October 11, 2007 Donnie is a excellent kicker. I would love for my son to get a chance to talk with him. Simply because he is a left footed kicker also.
bullets13 Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 i'm a lefty, and i had a right-footed wide receiver coach trying to teach me when i started kicking in high school
WB/NDN Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 Saw him kicking in a camp over the summer he is unreal. Heard his best was an 82yd kickoff. Saw him knocking down 50yd field goals with plenty of leg left. He'll be going places.
justafan1 Posted October 11, 2007 Author Report Posted October 11, 2007 Coach Fuller, how is Belton treating you? I grew up in Killeen and played at Ellison. Bullets13 he does kick field goals if the coaches would let him. He also punts. I am trying to post his punt against Warren. He is standing on the goal line and the ball lands on the 46.
bullets13 Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 Sweet, he's got a good leg... if he keeps practicing he'll be a great kicker by the time he graduates.
Guest orangeman Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 Justafan1, my family and I really enjoy being back in Belton. Football is keeping me extremely busy, but I'm enjoying it. I'm going to be the JV basketball coach this year, and that's just around the corner. I'm really looking forward to that, but I do miss my WH boys.... think about them all the time.
Guest WBFan09 Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 Donnie is a excellent kicker. I would love for my son to get a chance to talk with him. Simply because he is a left footed kicker also. the only thing is looking at your son both his legs combined plus one of mine and probably one of yours can even equal the size of Donnies calf :
Kelly Fan Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 just to add to this...i saw Carona kick a 47 yard feild goal and had a 47yd punting avg. his last game...
Guest WBFan09 Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 doesnt he average like 73 yards a kickoff?...if you can do that than you could be very valuable to next level teams
justafan1 Posted October 24, 2007 Author Report Posted October 24, 2007 More video clips if you want to see them. Should be posted tomorrow.Kicker check your pm
baddog Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 Nick Canizales had a special report and some highlights on this kid just a while ago. He's awesome. Being consistent on FGs is great for a team and can win some games, but since football is a game of field position, I think a great punter can get your team out of some jams like Curtis Parks used to do for us. I always hollered at the punt returners that they better back up when Curtis punted, but they never listened.
justafan1 Posted October 25, 2007 Author Report Posted October 25, 2007 He is also a punter. One of the clips that will be posted today is of him standing on the goal line ready to punt and you can see the ball lands on about the 40 yard line with decent hang time. I am in the process of loading the videos now.
