BIGMO44 Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Well, this is kind of on the thread...Back in the late 90's the Burkville Mustangs were in a 4th and long and in punt formation, the PA announcer comes on and says "don't punt that ball coach"!
2throwrundown Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Sitting in the stands one friday evening watching a local team trying to qualify for the playoffs. They hadn't had the best of games up to that point and fans were letting the coach know they weren't pleased. They had just scored to take the lead. On the insuing kickoff, the kicker misstepped and barely kicked the top of the ball and the ball went a total of 2 yards maybe. Someone sitting above me started screamin "come on COACH[what was that?" : To this day i am sure the coach told his kicker to give the opposing team the ball at the 50, Im sure of it! ;D
BMTSoulja1 Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 I don't wanna say this on a public forum, but Central fans use a lot of 'choice words when we get a big play and the next play, the coaches can't get the next 2 plays in on time and we have to burn a T.O. or take a delay of game.
RonBurgundy68 Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Theres always this one guy at the Vidor games that yells out "Come on Vidor, just throw the deep ball!" in the biggest hick voice you will ever hear, not gunna lie, its the funniest thing ever haha...
BMTSoulja1 Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 There was a guy that used to go to Central games like 3 years ago. I havn't seen him lately. I called him steamhead because he had a bald head and Central had done a stupid play in a big game. He took his Central chair and threw it down the stands. Since it was cold, his head started steaming. He just stood there with the meanest 'mean mug'. The next year, he calmed down because he started bringing his wife and Kids with him. Central fans probably remember this guy. ;D
mactiger Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 How about the Junior High games where the moms scream out "That's my baby!" on every play.
BMTSoulja1 Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 and in my head, 'I'm like ooooh laaaaaawd! : :' :D
lamarex Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 I was at a LaMarque vrs Sante Fe game enjoying halftime. As the Coog band was starting to leave the field an Indian fan stood up and yelled " Don't leave, PLEASE!!!!...The Coogs will come back!!!! well, it was funny if you were there.
bhawk Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 the funniest thing ive heard was not directed to a coach but an official...."got of your knees your blowin the game"
HFmom Posted October 14, 2007 Report Posted October 14, 2007 Thats the best so far. ;D.and to add to it they say in the same voice if the player misses the tackle and he scores they say"what are they doin out there"?? ok, ok...so I have to admit, although I don't have a "high pitched grandma voice", I am guilty of yelling "get him" but let me explain this please...My son plays defense and when I'm yelling, and happen to yell out "get him", it's not because I don't think the defensive players don't know what to do, it's just something I'm actually thinking but saying out loud. The same is true when offense is running the ball and you hear the crowd yelling, "go, go, go", as if the runner didn't know that was his job. I guess if you start thinking about the things fans yell out, anything can sound stupid if you think about the literal meaning of it. Reality is, we are fans, moms, dads, grandparents, etc, and yelling things like "get him", "go, go, go", or "catch the ball", is our way of expressing our encouragement for our kids. So, try not to be so hard on us moms out there, if makes us feel good to yell those things...lol!
JS Posted October 14, 2007 Report Posted October 14, 2007 At a 7th grade game playing at Aldine(I think)----A 7th grader goes around the end for a 70 yard score while one cheerleader yells to another " there goes your baby's daddy"

jasperdude101 Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 One time i heard a fan yell at the coaches, "run gator 56, run gator 56!" when another guy asked what was gator 56. the man replied its a defensive blitz i run all the time on madden. the sad part was he was dead serious.
BMT HS FOOTBALL FAN Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 I was a West Brook / Central game I can't remember the year. One of Central players broke a long kickoff return but started to tired and got caught from behind by west brook player. I heard a older Central fan say " HE WOULD OF SCORED IF HE DIDN'T HAVE THAT REFRIGERATOR ON HIS BACK " ;D
Wes57 Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 Heard this against Coldspring Friday night. The refs threw a flag against them and about 5 of their coaches were on the field and someone on our side of the field yelled " Get off the field, bus driver"
