Nope. Brooks joined Gillispie at Kentucky...

That is a great question because I have no idea who the coach is. Lets see if someone else knows the answer. If no one gets it is a few days, you might as well spill the beans.

It would take a little research. I stumbled on it while trying to find out what Foster's doing these days.

Doc, I'll not reveil your ID but I know you are a football fan. You aren't really big on basketball. I highly suspect you looked the answer up if it is indeed correct.

;D I looked it up on the Big XII website. ;D Sorry BD92, I was just curious about the answer.

That's cool. I figured my avatar would be a subtle clue as to where to look first. Hey...is Daniels playing anywhere? I know Denver looked at him last year, but I haven't heard anymore about him.

My man, next time lets see if anyone knows the answer without looking it up. Then after sometime looking the answer up is cool with me. I would have never got the answer. So props to you for looking it up and props to Bulldog92 for a great question.

Glad, Bulldog92 took it in stride doc. Last I heard Alan Daniels was playing overseas. I'm not sure what team or what league he is playing in this season.

It was convenient that NU was involved. It's been a rough month or so for us and I needed something positive to think about. Sadler was a great hire for the Huskers, but Big XII basketball is a huge hill to climb.

Bulldog92, you right the Big 12 in a tough conference in all sports. I think they are getting stronger in men's basketball. Nebraska hit a homer with the hiring of Doc Salder.

That was one of the few things ex-AD Peterson did right. :)

I agree wholeheartedly! Next trivia question: Mike Olliver is Lamar's All-Time career scoring leader with 2,518 pts. When he finished his career after the 81 season where did he rank in NCAA history?

Great question. I don't have a clue...

Thanks, he was my favorite player until recently (Big-time trouble with the law). He isn't my favorite anymore because I can't say he is the kind of man I want my son to grow up like but he could fill the basket in a hurry.

A big hint here. When Mike Olliver finished his career at Lamar University he was at that time ranked in the Top 25 All-Time. I'm looking for the exact position he was ranked because it is unbelievable to most people.

I don't wanna cheat and even if I did, I'm not sure where I'd look. I had two favorites growing up...Tommy Sewell and James Gulley. I remember emulating Gulley's baseline turnaround jumper when I was a skinny 5'1" guard on my 8th grade team in Jasper and watching Sewell when I was learning to shoot before that. I never saw Olliver play, though...

Well, Olliver scored about 800 more pts than Gulley (yeah I loved that turnaround jumper he had) and 1,100 more than Sewell.

I know. He must have been amazing. It would be nice to have someone like that around now to help get LU back on the map, but I think they're gonna get there soon enough anyway if Coach Roc keeps bringing in the talent like he is...

I think you are right about Coach Roc. He is bringing in the talent. We just have to convert the talent to wins on the court!

Here is a BIG HINT on the trivia question. Olliver was ranked between 10th and 20th on the career All-Time scoring list when his career was finished in 1981.

I could not find the answer on the web so I asked someone with a lot of years watching Lamar Basketball. He told me Mike Olliver was 15th on the career scoring list upon finishing his playing days at Lamar.

With all the players to ever play DI basketball finishing ranked 15th is amazing. I wonder where he is ranked today?

Bo Lamar of USL had over 3000 points. Why isn't he on that list?

I've gone back over the list and the only player from USL I see is Andrew Toney. That don't mean you are wrong possibly this list is not accurate.

Next trivia question: What former Lamar Men's Basketball player has the highest percentage of made 3-pt attempts in their career?
