jdawg03 Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 please nominate the sophomores who performed exceptionally this year....please include stats, the class of the player, team, and any other relevant information
TigerMom Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Kevin McDonald of Silsbee. He had a great season. He was Silsbee #2 pitcher and did one heck of job on the mound - went 5-0 in district. He also was one of the leaders for Silsbee at bat.
Dawg_Pride Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Kelly has 3 good sophmores. Donnie Carona, Landon Steinhagen(sp), and Anthony Fazio
Dawg_Pride Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Vidor also has some stud sophmores in the middle infield. I think its Bunner and idk the other guy
cleanup13 Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Carnahan from PNG. This sophmore excelled under intense pressure when having to take the helm from 3 year starter Blake Buchanan because of unfortunate circumstances. He helped guide this senior heavy team to the area play-offs with his quiet strength and hard work ethic. Season stats: AVG .339, SL% .419, OBP .457, GM 27, AB 62, R 11, H 21, RBI 11, PO 165, A 18, PB 7. He is also an excellent student.
MIF04 Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Add Thad Lycan of WB. Started all year @ 3B/SS and hit .344 (.310 in district).
shsucat Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Kevin McDonald - Silsbee 8-2 Record for the year 5-0 in District Played short and pitched

bball100 Posted May 16, 2006 Report Posted May 16, 2006 Todd Wallace sophmore catcher for Westbrook. Todd completed the season as a .365 slugger, with 98 PO's , 13 RBI's, and 2 Homeruns on 23 game starts. His debut in the opening game vs Kingwood resulted in a 2 RBI HIT that won the Game for Westbrook in the bottom of the 7th inning. His arm strength, quick release and throwing accuracy from behind the plate will be exciting to watch during his Westbrook carreer.

moose30 Posted May 19, 2006 Report Posted May 19, 2006 Carnahan from PNG. He was put in a tough situation and handled it like a champ. His stats prove that he is a winner. He is a pleasure to watch and is a great young man. I wish him the best.
MIF04 Posted May 20, 2006 Report Posted May 20, 2006 I also think Hales from BH deserves credit. He already was deserving but proved a lot tonight vs. BC. He has got to be in the mix.
