This is the first of two "Maybe you missed these" updates on commitments from the past ten days across the USA. This report has commitments from Florida Atlantic, Coastal Carolina, UNC-Greensboro, Montana, High Point, Kent State, Denver, East Tennessee State, and Lamar.Up first are the commitments of two perimeter talents to Florida Atlantic, where Rex Walters and his staff add 6-foot-5 Dago Pena and 6-foot-2 Shavon Shine.Dago Pena was a major coup for Florida Atlantic as they beat VCU, South Florida, Penn State, and Mississippi for his commitment.Coastal Carolina took two from Havana, FL East Gadsden High, as Cliff Ellis and his staff added commitments from 6-foot-7 195-pound Samuel McLaurin and 6-foot-3 175-pound Reshard McGill. Both are quick athletic players who can defend on the perimeter.UNC-Greensboro had an excellent week receiving a commitment from 6-foot-8 Elban Bone from Sandersville, GA Washington County. He can block shots and is improiving on the offensive end. They also got a boost from juco combo 6-foot-2 Montel Smith from Brunswick CC, NC who decided he will sign with UNCG in November.The Montana Grizzlies add a mobile power forward in 6-foot-7 220-pound Matthias Ward from Gig Harbor, WA. He can score around hoop or step out and pop perimeter jumper.High point has received a commitment from athletic South Carolina big man 6-foot-8 210-pound Stedman Short from Simpsonville, SC Hillcrest.Kent State has added one of the top prep school combo guards in 6-foot-2 180-pound Ronnie Moss from Mendenhall, MS Genesis One. He's a physical combo who can finish in traffic off the dribble or pop 17-footer on the move. Look for him to make an immediate impact with the Golden Flashes once he arrives next fall.The University of Denver has received a verbal from 6-foot-2 175-pound Brian Safford from Loa Lomas, CA Walnut Creek High. He can play either spot in the backcourt and sets up dribble drive with solid jumper from three.East Tennessee State added a quality athlete on the wing in 6-foot-6 J.C. Ward from Marietta, GA. He can get to rim in a hurry off the dribble and finish with the flush.Lamar has received a commitment from 6-foot-4 175-pound swing man Charlie Harper from San Antonio, TX James Madison.
