BigTuna Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Give thoughts and why? if possible. Kids coming back, pitching, etc. I day HJ, Silsbee, Jasper. HJ returns 2 of their pitchers and many young varsity players. Silsbee returns Schooling and McDonald so they will be in the hunt. Jasper Mixon finds a way to win. BC will be beatable because they can't ride Angelle and Dishon can't pitch from CF.
kerusso Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 I would rate BC as the front runner..dog fight for the other 2 spots. Going to be very competitive. Probably the best baseball district SE Texas has seen in a long time.
shsucat Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Silsbee gets one spot! Starters returning next year: Pitching: Schooling, McDonald, and Skinner. Infield: McDonald, Moss Outfield: Calnoun Catcher: Hargrave Good group of JV players!(some filed in on Varsity this year) Hargrove,Kelly,Reed and Wolcott. Trawhon finds away to get the Tigers in!!!
adminbaberuth Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Bridge City and Silsbee, the rest a dog fight.
MIF04 Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 It starts with pitching: Silsbee has both starters back (Schooling and McDonald) along with a fair # of position players (see post above). They may be the early district favorite. Bridge City returns their 3 and 4 (Stringer and Meeks)...but remember they were 3 and 4 behind 2 very good pitchers (Angelle and Haymon). They also have the best position player (Dishon) as well as a lot of power from C Jackson. Jasper is losing Alvis but returns Reagan and Parsons (also has Hart at SS). Their best weapon is their coach. HJ has some pitching coming back but is losing their ace in Roebuck. Look for Treece to be there #1???? They do have a lot of offense returning which they'll need. Should be a heckuva race. Plus there'll be some surprises (HF?).
SilsbeeD Posted May 16, 2006 Report Posted May 16, 2006 umm i dont know where to start, district is just too big!!
Bobcatfan4life Posted May 16, 2006 Report Posted May 16, 2006 Three of these eight. BC, Jasper, Silsbee, H-F, WO-S, H-J, OF, Kirbyville. This is gonna be a heck of a district in all sports!!
Guest Cardinal12 Posted May 16, 2006 Report Posted May 16, 2006 BC will go undefeated you guys underestimate Meeks and Stringer. 2 very good pitchers these two alone could win the district just with their arms. Don't forget BC can hit. Silsbee probably second with Jasper following closely.
jdawg03 Posted May 16, 2006 Report Posted May 16, 2006 Jasper only loses three seniors....Hart, Ellis, Parsons, and Reagan all return...also had a kid that hit 10-15 hrs on the jv I look for it to be BC, Jasper, and Silsbee

This isn't the district that BC just went 20-0 in the last two years. In combining these two districts you take six playoff teams from this year and make them fight for three spots next year. Don't overlook anyone!!!

But against tough teams they would need a good def, behind them, and losing 3 great infielder's it might be tough.
Guest Orangeboy Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 I would say the favorites have to be BC, Silsbee, and Jasper in no particular order. I think the winner of this district will have 2-3 loses. WOS and HJ will battle for the third spot. While HF is in a rebuilding year after losing 11 seniors.
