Guest car ramrod Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 Mangan at H-F deserves the nod. I know some people are saying Coach Brooks and Coach Hooks, but hear me out. H-F was picked dead last or second to last in most peoples district polls. They are still in the thick of the playoff hunt and a much better team than people thought. He has made a real quick turn around with that program.Jasper was picked anywhere from second to fourth in the pre-district polls and is loaded with young athletes. Brooks is doing a great job with those kids, but that was expected.WO-S has been the favorite since they were moved down to 3a, so any thing less than winning would be unacceptable.
setxguru Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 Hope he is better than he was to OZENYou have been badly informed on Brooks performance at ozen mr bj. It was the converted 9th grade coach that never got out of the golf cart and the rest of the coaches he brought in that killed ozen's football program. They should have been watching a little more game film instead of porn in the film room, and maybe they would have won more games.
setxguru Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 I personally think that there have been several great coaching jobs this year in the triangle. I think Coach Creuder at Lumberton has done a wonderful job. The coaches at Buna and Haynes at Hardin have done a very good job. Thomas Brooks at Jasper has done a wonderful job. As usual Hooks and Thompson have WOS going. Mike Long at Kelly has done a great job thus far. The person to me who is getting very little credit for the job he has done this year is Matt Burnett at PNG. At the current date he would have to be my coach of the year.
Guest Rooster Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 I hope Coach I-shiet Medrurz wins some kind of award.

adminbaberuth Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 No playoffs predicted for this coach before the season. Bang, starting Senior QB out for the year after first game. Probably want finish higher than a rebuilding Ozen after the injury, plus having to use soph QB who has never taken a snap. 6-1, still in the hunt.

Guest FPHS 78 Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 Matt Burnett at PNG. At the current date he would have to be my coach of the year. and yet, then b-tch and moan and want his job ???
flash360 Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 I have to agree with Franklin in 1A. Chester has 29 kids playing football and there are less than 40 boys in high school. After the beatings they took last year, for the jackets to be 3-3 and keeping 29 players out, has to at least be worth a look.
besbolbenbedygud Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 Coach of the year awards normaly go to the District Champs......Which means Creuder will suffer, what I like to call, the English-Butte effect..[When at Vidor, English took the Pirates to the schools first and second ever post seasons....but Ozen won disrict and Butte got the plaque......lol...] He has all of our votes (mine included IF they make the playoffs...season is not over yet!) but don't be upset if it don't make the papers.......Matt Burnett at PNG, Larry Neumann at Nederland and Daytons coach (sorry cant remember the name) should all be kept in mind, at this point, for the changes they have made and were forced to make....Any of the four would be deserving of the award.......IMO What a season it's been and how fun is this home streach going to be......Lumberton trying to kill a streak of their own and Nederland trying to keep theirs alive!!!
Guest fridaynightfootball Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 coach haynes - hardin 2-A
Guest BIG HOUSE Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 If Lumberton can make the Playoffs for the FIRST time in school HISTORY..........With no speeeeeed,no athletes, and whatever else all you naysayers said earlier in the year, then its gotta be ALVIN CREDEUR....................GO RAIDERS..... THANKS COACH CREDEUR....GREAT SEASON...
hornet0508 Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 well i would have to say coach haynes at hardin cause he turned around a 2-8 season to be 8-1 now that is pretty impressive and ec does have a good coach and so does buna but ec went undefeated in district last year and hardin wasnt expected to do as well as they are doin now we are proud of our boys for tryin their butts off and never givin up ;D
Guest Indian Chief Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 Believe it or not may have to say Burnett.
Guest WBFan09 Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 5A--still up in the air4A--Creuder quite the turn around. I think they will make the playoffs but would love to see them win the district first. This coach has definitely got something going out there in Lumberton. I am impressed with what I have read about the kids being involved in a summer track program. I know they play a lot of baseball out there and as a former track coach I know hwo hard it is to talk kids into running more than 90 feet. I coached out there when Coach Creuder was our film guy, 1982. Remember that coach? lol3A--Madigan (sp?) HF good to see HF being competitive. 2A--Haynes 2-8 to hopefully 10-0 this year. EC has the tradition, would love to see them get past Mart and further into the playoffs, if that happened, I would vote for Valastro (sp?)1A--?Privates--Long-- Hearing great things about Kellymy apologies for any misspelled last namesyou have to be kiddng me...still up in the air?you pick the coachone punted from the 28 and his team is 4-5...PAM Thompsonthe other is 8-1 and has locked up district...WB Stump
gotta love em Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 2A would most def. have to be Coach Haynes.sorry yall. i'm new to this give me some slack please. :-\
ftballcrazy Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 I vote for Morgan and all the coaches at Buna! They have done a great job this year. They have stepped out of their comfort zone this year. Then again in Buna we are use to getting no respect.I hope when the playoffs come around the newscasters will give more respect then making jokes as our boys walk on the field like last year. Go Cougs GO
Mike George Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 What's with all the votes for the Evadale coach? Must be some "close to the triangle" sentimental favorite. Coach Joe Slack, head football coach and athletic director at Hull-Daisetta has to be hands down, the 1-A Coach of the Year, at least in this area. His team sailed through the district undefeated, and that included the win over Evadale.
Guest dailynews Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 Ricky Tullos of Cleveland. 1st year head coach taking over a 1-9 program that was picked last in the district by every poll imaginable. After 6 straight losses they have won the last three (one being the untouchable coldspring trojans) and have clinched a playoff birth and possible a co-district championship. Good luck Indians and Coach Tullos!!!!
bhawk Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 Coach Alvin Credeur no doubt....look hows he's turned us around in two years
