Really thought Vidor had the chance there. Hey, have they played Beaumont Ozen or Little Cypress-Mauriceville. Those are some of their better chances.

Congrats Central, I thought it was a good game until the last 2 minutes. I have a question Where is Vidors hurry up offense they were doing roll out passes with twins on either the right side or the left. I dont understand these coaches philosphy. Also the HC needs to put head sets on and get control of his OC. UP until that point I can honestly say i thought they done a pretty good job of play calling. Im still waiting on a reciever to step up and make some catches. They had several pases hit them in the hands and they droped them they need to take there reciever gloves OFF! I wasnt really impressed with central I think they have a lot of athletes in the wrong places just my opinion.

Good game tonight Pirates! Way to battle..

   Too many turnovers though.

I didnt understand not having   a hurry up offense either...they were still huddling up with 30 seconds left..?

The defense stepped up and held Central on several 4th down situiations.way to play though Pirates!

and #17 Franklin I dont blame you for getting upset .You are a heck of an athlete but you cant do it yourself..keep your head up

Twenty-six dropped passes so far this year. Ouch!

The throw back screen with about thirty seconds left is a hugh gainer if caught maybe a touchdown. Its so frustrating to see this happen week in and week out. The kids have to step up and make plays. Qb was upset because he kept getting pressured and sacked in the last two minutes from the week side when we had both backs in blocking and neither one was blocking the guy.

Good game Vidor.  I'm not mad, I'm actually happy.  We changed our offense.  Now with the I formation with frog at WR, where he should be.  our chances just got that much better.  Vidor pretty much moved the ball all night.  we mad key tackles later in the game.  But we have to make better tackle all game long.  And to Vidor, what the heck are yall still doing that swinging gate crap for?  Just for the record, Pilsbury is an animal.

Central holds off pesky Vidor, 34-28

David Rollinson

The Orange Leader

BEAUMONT — The Central Jaguars scored 13 unanswered points in the fourth period to slip past the gritty Vidor Pirates 34-28 at Babe Zaharias Stadium Friday night in District 22-4A action.

The Pirates (1-6, 0-4) grabbed a 28-21 advantage early in the fourth period behind quarterback Roman Franklin’s 4-yard keeper.

Central (4-3, 2-2) recovered quickly when quarterback Patrick Fobbs hit swift receiver Isaiah Wise on a 57-yard bomb as the Jaguars knotted it up at 28-28.

Fobbs threw his second touchdown pass on the night to seal the contest when he connected with David Mayfield on a 13-yard strike with 2:28 remaining in the game.

The Pirates managed to move the ball to the Jaguar 36 on the game’s last series but were thwarted on fourth down.

Fobbs completed 12-of-21 passes for 194 yards. Wise hauled in five catches for 113 yards and Derrick Hall had five grabs for 64 yards.

Central outgained the Pirates 299-226.

Fullback Theron Reynolds paced the 199-yard ground effort by the Pirates with 88 yards on 10 carries while Bo Pillsbury added 56 yards on 11 totes.

Central received field goals of 25 and 27 yards by kicker Fernando Uribe to grab a 6-0 lead in the first period.

Vidor tied the game early in the second with Franklin scoring on a 6-yard dart. The Pirates took the lead on a 56-yard fumble return by Clayton Harbison.

Central bounced right back though with Fobbs scoring on a 5-yard gallop and Mayfield added a 1-yard touchdown run to give the Jaguars a 21-14 lead at intermission.

The Pirates were able to tie things up again when Reynolds broke loose on a 41-yard scoring jaunt in the third period.

Chales Thomas led the Central ground game with 65 yards on 10 carries. Franklin completed 3-of-11 passes for 27 yards.

The Pirates will be seeking their first 22-4A victory next Friday when they welcome first-place Port Neches-Groves. Central will visit Dayton.

Good game Vidor..One too many turnovers, but yall played hard and that's all you can ask for..

Pilsbury #40  even though you are playing with alot of pain and a bad knee ,you play with alot of heart and you give it 100% every down..Yall keep playing hard like that every week then yall will get a vicotry soon.

I believe we are out of the playoff hunt ,but that don't mean we aren't going down swinging.
