SteelerCzy Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 Buna has 370 kids right now, i see them staying down in 2A for a whileHeard Buna was closer to 420 as of October 15th.
whsalum Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 Heard Buna was closer to 420 as of October 15th.Buna posted 412.5 last year.I don't think they have dropped 42 kids since school started. They were real close to the limit last year. They are by far the biggest school in 24aa.
Tiger90 Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 Kountze had ballooned up to 417 and as of yesterday were at 409.
Guest BigHam Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 Probably not this one, but the next one, i expect them to drop, kids are going to PN-G and NED schools now, in which i dont blame them the way that school district is. PAM and WB are almost the same size. Within 10 or 20 on the headcount. They're not not dropping.
WH-BackInThaDay Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 What are Deweyville's numbers?? What is the cutoff for 2A-1A?
Lumberjack Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 Word is the 3A District will stay the same!!!Man that's good news! Is there anyone down there that would like to give us a game in non-district? Jasper? WO-S? Anybody? Pleeeeease? ;D
HFlonghorn1992 Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 I want to see H-F and Kirbyville move to the district with Liberty and Splendora
Guest pilot Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 The official count was done this past week for each school in Texas. Everyone should be able to find out from their school what the number was and post here.I think Newton's count was UP this year to 378 from 350. This should still be a solid 2A count for Newton unless UIL does some big change.THIS IS UNOFFICIAL. Just heard at football game. :-)
BobcatBacker Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 After speaking with Dr. Breithaupt on Thursday sounds like the 3A District will remain the same.If so, Dr. Breithaupt stuck it to us again!! Two years ago he saw to it that the number was raised just high enough for his precious Buna Cougars to drop to AA(Set at 415 and Buna had 413) :, and to top that combined two already tough districts to making a Eight Team Power District with 5 teams over 700(3 over 800 at the time), or close to that. You teased us for a year, giving us hope that something would happen to even out the districts, and now we hear it's not going to happen >!!!!! Maybe in two more years we need to pitch a tent in the woods of Gist(Only for the month when they count) , get a P.O. Box in Buna, and really mess up his numbers.

captain america Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 Bobcat Backer, Quit your whining about Buna and the UIL!And don't worry about moving to Gist, you probably couldn't meet the entrance requirementslater
PURPLE 4EVER Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 Just curious....Why do so many have Barbers Hill going into 22-4 and Dayton going back into 21-4A.Wouldn't they leave 22-4A the same?Seems like Barbers Hill was perfectly happy when they were put into 21-4A.Dayton wasn't so happy about going into 22-4A, but I think we have made the best of it.
captain america Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 not sure what BUna's enrollment will be , but it is down from the last time it was taken two years ago. We lost around 80-100 students in the aftermath of Rita and have never recovered those numbers.

Guest LCM Volleyball Posted October 30, 2007 Report Posted October 30, 2007 Very littlle will change in the area i bet.
Hatch Posted October 30, 2007 Report Posted October 30, 2007 What are the numbers going to be for 3A?

Guest Wos Grad 2000 Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 Please spilt the 3A District back.
PURPLE 4EVER Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 I think because Barbers Hill is closer to all of our teams, even more so than Dayton. Why would the UIL put Dayton into 22-4A instead of Barbers Hill???I heard Galena Park really wanted us out of 21-4A.Looking at what happened last week, it looks like 22-4A will be happy to have Dayton and Barbers Hill swapped.Guess we just have to wait until February to find out.
Guest Ozen Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 I BET THEY SWITCH DAYTON AND BARBERS HILL.
