Volleyball Coach: So the girls made the playoffs - why can't those that are not on the team start b-ball practice?Football coach: So the boys football team is still playing and will make the playoffs (will not end until mid-november) - does b-ball have to take a back seat to football? if so, do the girls a favor and hire a "GIRLS BASKETBALL COACH" instead of just pawning the job off.

It makes NO sense to wait until VB or football season is over! you take the sub varsity kids and get going!! When the vb team is knocked out of the play-offs, you get those kids. This seems like a no brainer to me!

This seems like a no brainer to me! Ditto CoachKfan If your school's program is not hitting the hardwood the very first day they are eligable then you are starting off in the hole! I'm not sure which school you are referring to, but if this is in fact true...the AD is not doing his job. (I'm sure the AD is also the head football coach, but that shouldn't matter)

This seems like a no brainer to me! agree with you coachKfan because this happens to baseball and softball waiting for basketball to end you just play and practice with who you have until basketball
whsalum Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 This may be the only time some of these sub varsity players get the individual help they need.Anyone not playing another sport needs to start the very first day the UIL says its OK.It's unfortunate that some AD'S think there isn't but 1 sport.
