pirate68 Posted November 2, 2007 Report Posted November 2, 2007 I dont know if you read the statement all the way through, but it said there were that many people living in the SCHOOL DISTRICTS , which extends further than the city limit boundaries. I dont believe 25000 live in the Vidor district with Evadale less than 15 miles north and Orangefield 10 miles to the southnot to mention LCM district starts on HWY 12

Lefty99 Posted November 6, 2007 Report Posted November 6, 2007 I heard the other night at the kville-silsbee game that kville is in the low 400's! This person said that most likely they will drop! This is only what I heard no concrete facts yet.
PoppaBearstarr Posted November 6, 2007 Report Posted November 6, 2007 In Lumberton they have averaged 28 new residents a month for the last four years but this year it dropped off a bit to 25 per month, still the #'s aren't that much different in the highschool it's the elementary where they are overflowing. They have approximately 24,000 people within the school district which is about six times larger than the city limits. I think they are around 1050 in highschool but I haven't checked in a while. But I know the growth is correct.
PoppaBearstarr Posted November 6, 2007 Report Posted November 6, 2007 Barbers Hill is busting at the seams as well

PoppaBearstarr Posted November 6, 2007 Report Posted November 6, 2007 yeah there are quite a few new subdivisions being built.
cardinals4life Posted November 6, 2007 Report Posted November 6, 2007 Does anyone know wat Bridge City's number is?
NorthoftheBorder Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 You are probably very close. New houses going up everywhere but most seem to have younger children.I think that Lumberton's number should be real close to 1,100 unless they have had some move out since school started. I hear that the elementary schools project an enrollment in about 6 years in the 1,300-1,400 range.

I hear that the elementary schools project an enrollment in about 6 years in the 1,300-1,400 range.ive heard close to 1450 for lumberton.
setxsportswhizz08 Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 I heard HF is at 5683a needs to be bumped up a knotch.

But I know the growth is correct. Not to nit pick, but the population within the city limits in 2000 was about 9,000 and now is estimated to be around 11,500-12,000 in the city limits and another 12,000 just outside the city limits.....for the 24,000 within the school district figure.
Tiger90 Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 3a needs to be bumped up a knotch. ??? That is solid 3a.
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 anyone know what numbers PAM, Wichita Falls Rider, and the mid-county schools turned in?

Yes you are correct, the population density is much greater inside the city limits though and I was going off of the city limit sign becuase most people didn't know that info was pulled in the last sensus poll in 2000. And to say that there are probably another 1000 lots approved to be developed and many more being talked about.
Guest beards_bro Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 ive heard close to 1450 for lumberton.I'm not sure of the exact number of enrollment for Lumberton but I doubt it is 1450 as that would make us very close to Nederland & Vidor in enrollment and we are not very close to them. The latest stats from this past year showed Lumberton being the smallest school in district 22 4A and showed PNG, Nederland, & Vidor to be the top three. Lumberton is also the smallest 4A school in the State of Texas.

Tiger90 Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 I don't have Silsbee's exact number but I believe it was in the 830s.
jhsbulldog Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 in 1997 jasper has close to 988 students. according to that years yearbook. i cant believe they have only 813 now.
Bulldog92 Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 in 1997 jasper has close to 988 students. according to that years yearbook. i cant believe they have only 813 now.We were well over 1000 back in the late 80's and early 90's. I know there's not a lot to do down there, so people should be having plenty of kids. ;DActually, a lot of the businesses that were in Jasper when I was a kid that provided jobs for young families aren't there anymore (Visador, etc.), so more people are leaving when they finish high school and are raising their kids in other places where jobs are easier to come by.
Raider88 Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 I spoke with someone in the office the other day in reference to Lumberton and she said around 1100 give or take a few. She said the real growth is in the lower levels for now.
