LHS alumni- QUIT!

A loss is a loss no matter if its by 1 or 50.

The only sport liberty beat trakington in last year was football - so you bring up history.

What is liberty's history, oh scholar?

Oh how bout you QUIT...Liberty beat Tarkington last year in Football, Golf, and Tennis...split with yall in Volleyball but should have beaten yall in the 3rd game...and what do you mean "Oh Scholar"

You are having a hard time distinguishing between what "should have happened" and what DID HAPPEN aren't ya. Way to go school pride. . .if your proud about winning in one sport. Well excuse me + tennis and golf!!! ( Had to dig deep for that one)

I would love to see the proof of that comment because too many people spout off statistics that they don't know (just guessing). It's easy to make a comment with no viable evidence. Now if you can give me the exact record between Tarkington and liberty in all sports for the last 10 years then we will talk.

im pretty sure that Tarkington has all other sports in a bag exceopt football hands down. the reason the football team struggles is because they have no discipline. but i think the horns will make a big suprise on friday nights game against liberty. we will have to wait and see:)

Good luck horns.

Ok guys - I gotta laugh - This is a football post.  Now lets talk football history between Liberty and Tarkington.

Liberty I do not believe has ever lost to Tarkington in football and the last time Tarkington made the playoffs was - I believe - in 1961.

Wanna talk other sports - go to other posting areas. But guys I like Tarkington but this is an argument that they cannot win - take last year out of the equation - and Liberty has beat Tarkington in all sports on a regular basis- Including Baseball.

There is no doubt that Tarkington has closed the gap in all sports between itself and the other teams in the district - but history is not on Tarkington's side in this debate.

If you want actual win - losses I can get that - but I really think Tarkington would not like the results.  Now Tarkingtons future is bright - they are battling for district titles in several sports and deserve what they have gotten: Baseball and Volleyball are their best sports - but they have gotten better in basketball and Track and Field.  But thier football team is still a long way from being a district contender.

Sorry - as I stated this is a football post - just kinda lost my head agian.

    • This is good info. It doesn’t really break out for student athletes though. LP & (I think) DP are open enrollment because of the way the towns intertwine. That’s the way it’s been for many years anyway. I assume it still is that way. The kids have a choice after Jr. High to go to either High School because LPISD has elementary schools in DP. As I recall, DP didn’t want to build out more (Robin Hood issues), and so DPISD & LPISD came to an arrangement because LPISD is one of the highest givers to Robin Hood in the state, and it helped both keep more funds in district. Of course, LPISD is open to all. Not just DP, and LPISD is rated well. So, I assume they have kids from elsewhere also. Not positive though. They used to have a lot because—for decades—DeWalt was the only dedicated public school in the GHA that specifically catered to special needs kids. Families from all over enrolled. But, they didn’t participate in extracurricular activities like sports. So, LP’s total enrollment made them 6A. But, they were really a 5A school all along for sports program sake. This is all as best as I can recall from when I was more involved in school issues. I’m sure a lot has changed since then. My kids have been out for 20 years.
    • Our playoff rivalry. They hold a 6-5 edge in the series. I think Newton continues the win streak in a hard fought contest. What say y’all?
    • Has Elmo gotten his aggy premature extension yet?  Pay him already because you guys were exactly right - he really does “get you.” 😂🤣
    • It’s been awhile, but I seem to remember 5 D starters out & 2 O starters out (OL). A big difference is that Simon wasn’t involved yet. He’s totally changed LP’s rushing attack from last year as a bruising, explosive addition to Barnes, Sandolph & Bright. Last year—and early this season—LP was missing that element. Now, Coach Berneathy is not making talented players wait like many other coaches & even his predecessors at LP. If the kid can produce at the varsity level, they’re moved up. And man, has Simon produced! Over 1200 yards & 20 TD’s in less than a full season so far! It’s allowed LP to alternate RB’s where Barnes doesn’t take all the pounding. Barnes and Sandolph are also able to split out as receivers as desired to add threats that weren’t really an option last year. The PNG/LP game was a full-on tilt & good for both squads. I remember Gary Joseph in the end zone giving his son pointers as an extra set of eyes since he’d had experience with LP in past PO matchups. That was a good game. The score wasn’t really indicative of the game. Not sure anyone felt it was over until the final whistle! Good luck to y’all in Cajun Country. Bring back a win for SE Texas. (Yes. La Porte is still SETX. Ha!)
