Probably the last time Lumberton won a district with Silsbee in it before this year.. never lol

I dont recall Kountze basketball doing much in the 80s and made the turn around when Coach Green took over around 1994. That team with Lowe and McDaniel was pretty good. The Josh Hancock and Chris Miller team made it to state in the late 90s. Over the past 31 years 3 titles and quite a few trips to state have been great but these are some dark basketball times for Kountze.

Coach Tate had some good clubs in Kountze years ago but the foundation for Kountze basketball in my opinion is Coach Williams. One of the best coaches to ever come through SE Texas and an even better man. I agree the Lions are on hard times now. The group coming will make them better but not nearly what they were during their glory days.

Joubert has done a fine job.  This season has been rough, but the coaches are still coaching up the kids.  They will be young next year but should get better.
