Silsbee vs HF

Some rumblings out of Houston ISD that Yates basketball team is under quarantine due to players from Sealy (team that Yates played Saturday) testing positive for Covid.

Protocol is for a team to quarantine for minimum 7 days if they have been in close contact with a positve and they have negative test themselves.

Be interesting to see how this plays out.

If Yates is unable to play for a week can the other team ask for a forfeit?

Hey are the game day decided by a coin toss between the two coaches or by the UIL ??? The Area Round of the Playoffs are Wed and Thurs

Dates and sites are agreed upon by coaches or coin flips between coaches. UIL has no say in where a team plays.

Silsbee and Yates has agreed to play Thursday in Dayton if Silsbee wins tonight. I believe HF and Yates have agreed as well but not certain on site.

The title might read SETX SPORTS, but I believe the majority of people talk Silsbee Basketball and they can be a little sensitive  lol

Meh, the majority of the people talk WOS football.  But you are correct that Silsbee has long dominated the conversation on this board.  But those two are also the Gold Standard in their respective sports.   Comes with that territory.  Beaumont United also gets a lot of discussion since it’s formation and the combining of the two best big school programs in the Triangle.   We’ve seen some long Lumberton threads too.  Start winning and people are going to talk about you.

Karma, maybe they will stop recruiting

Really? You guys have been crying that Yates is recruiting for more than 10 years now. They MUST be paying off the UIL too, because there are never any penalties brought against this school for recruiting. No penalties, No warnings, No sanctions, Nothing. Just stop crying foul when there is nothing there.

Recruiting is such a mean word. Maybe Program Enhancement would be more presentable. Lol

Save your breath when talking about Yates and their recruitment on this thread. Yates is attempting to keep up with numerous schools in Texas that recruit and win. lol 😂

    • I don’t benefit from it, that’s not my area.  But the average cost to imprison someone is around $15k per year (on average in the US) and capital cases cost somewhere between $1.5-$3M with over half being overturned or reduced to life in prison anyway.  These numbers may be inflated since the last report I read but I’m sure it would be on both sides and higher on the DP side if anything. So what’s the point?  We feel better because we got to return the favor on someone (hopefully) who committed a heinous crime?  And I don’t know I can say we have “complicated” it. Which appeal should we cut out?  Our justice system has a pecking order and we have higher courts for a reason. When we are about to impose the ultimate judgment, should we cut steps that other cases have to save a buck?  Or do we not pay for an indigent person’s experts at the trial court level because it’s too expensive? Or do we just lock them up and throw away the key (unless we later find out they weren’t actually guilty, in which case we have a key and a life we haven’t unjustly ended) and save a ton of money?  Seems to me to be an easy and obvious solution but I’m more of a pragmatist.
    • 1 thing for certain. Coach Earned 3 more years to figure it out lol
    • @CIS_org National Security Senior Fellow @BensmanTodd tells Steve Bannon how the U.S. State Department and USAID have been sending American taxpayer funds to religious nonprofits to facilitate mass immigration to our southern border. Bensman says 248 nonprofits are participating in the United Nations’ 2024 agenda to distribute $1.6 billion in cash, transportation, food, and shelter to U.S.-bound immigrants across Mexico and Latin America.
