JayBilas Posted March 1, 2021 Report Posted March 1, 2021 Kountze has had way too many "down" years in a row. What is going on down in those woods that the basketball has dried up so bad? Quote

Are those kids ending up in Silsbee? Such as Chris Miller did about 15 years ago, for example? I just don't see how they fell so far off the cliff like that. Quote
Tigers94 Posted March 1, 2021 Report Posted March 1, 2021 I recall some people on here mentioning discipline issues and kids quitting/getting kicked off the team in the not-so-distant past. They got a good bunch of 8th graders, as has been mentioned. It wouldn't make sense for too many of them to wind up in Silsbee next year. Playing time would be hard to come by, as Silsbee should have around a half dozen of their own kids ready to move up to varsity next year. Quote
aTmfan06 Posted March 1, 2021 Report Posted March 1, 2021 Talent just hasn’t been there. Things should improve over the next few years though. Quote

He moved back to Silsbee his 11th and 12th grade year. Quote

UNT-AggieMan Posted March 1, 2021 Report Posted March 1, 2021 combination of lack of talent and kids that just do not care to carry on the tradition i have heard, nobody can win with that. i have also heard that the 8th grade bunch can be special i would like to see for myseelf thou Quote
BMTSoulja1 Posted March 1, 2021 Report Posted March 1, 2021 Strange. The downfall of Kountze is proportionate to the surge of Silsbee basketball. Strange that when Kountze was scary good, their main guy was a Silsbee kid. So yea. I think the kids off highway 327 are now enrolled at Silsbee HS... BADSANTA 1 Quote

AggiesAreWe Posted March 1, 2021 Report Posted March 1, 2021 Some of it has to do with the fact that Kountze ISD has been very poor rated financially and academically for several years now. Lot's of turmoil going on there these days. Tiger33 and 5GallonBucket 1 1 Quote

BMTSoulja1 Posted March 1, 2021 Report Posted March 1, 2021 Were these academic issues not happening even back then I’m Kountze ISD? I also know some school districts that have poor academics according to most and their athletic programs, naming basketball as one has NOT taken a hit... Quote

Didn’t Yates who plays for BU transferred from Kountze? Strange that the surge of BU basketball happened about the time Kountze went down. If it wasn’t for Hardin county grown coaches and players BU would be concentrating on playin golf right about now. BMTSoulja1 1 Quote

THATS a huge lie! Wesley Yates III attended BISD schools since ELEMENTARY school, and his entire family is FROM Beaumont! Try again, sir! BMTSoulja1 1 Quote
Kountzer Posted March 1, 2021 Report Posted March 1, 2021 Just threw that out there to keep you happy. 90 % of what you post is bogus. Hogs like slop. Quote
Topdawg25 Posted March 1, 2021 Report Posted March 1, 2021 Wesley Yates has ties to kountze as far as family. But as stated played ball in Beaumont since he could dribble a ball. BMTSoulja1 1 Quote

BADSANTA Posted March 1, 2021 Report Posted March 1, 2021 Kountze needs a move in like Devin Bray around 2009-10. Quote
