Yessir he looks pretty rocked up

I've only seen Jacobs once in person, against Yates, who had a strong and long back court then.  This year's back court was similar.  They just slipped up.  Or maybe it was Silsbee.  Anyway Jacobs is experienced so he has been in the weight room.  Good for him.  I don't think Mac McClung's legend has anything to worry about.  That goes for others as well.   He would be a good pg at some small University, like Trinity.

Completely agree.  There are levels to this game.  That’s the right level for him.  As I’ve said on here many times, the college coaches generally get it right.

Only a small number of high school players make their mark, so to speak.  Even the ones who make it to the NBA.  Many just stay there long enough to have a cup of coffee and u never hear from them again.  Going from HS to D3, or from HS to D1 to the league is not easy to do.  Some make it look easy, but they are the exceptions not the rule.

Let's not Single out anybody Mike. With you being one of the Admins, lets do a better job with that. Just got a call from a parent, message me if you would like and we'll talk about it. He's just a freshman and we all have had bad nights. Stuff happens !! Be proud of this young group and we all know they will be in this situation again.

Although I generally agree with the sentiment of this statement. We should be able to criticize and critique individual player’s performances on this forum. I don’t think the OP said anything too egregious or controversial. Just stated the stats, which are facts. This has to be a parent or coach posting an objection. The kid in question will be just fine, he is the future for Silsbee. They will go as far as he takes them and this is what you saw vs HH. He finally had a bad game and they lost, no shame, it happens. He has been holding his own and caring more than his fair share of the load during the playoffs. He’s a baller and he will bounce back, if you think this will break him then you are crazy.

Were you here last season? Seems like you were.  Well, Silsbee had this temperamental player. Good athlete & b baller, but stuff would keep him off the court.  A few posters said this or that and his Mom found out.  She was a verbal brawler.  She got loose on this msg board, about her son, and reading her posts was akin to scratching your fingernails on a chalkboard.  So, with that in mind, I personally just as soon not say anything about any player.  Also, rumor had it a good player was thinking of going to BU instead of SHS.  I'd just soon not aggravate that situation either.  Sticks and stones, as the old saying goes.

Pretty sure at least one Tiger parent post on these forums.

Not that simply pointing out a kid had a bad game is somehow crossing any sort of line.

Nothing to be ashamed of having an off night. Even professionals have off nights. Just keep working and it'll be time for some payback next year

Personally I wasn’t the one who brought up the issue.  That was someone else.  I gave my opinion and that is that. I wasn’t aware that Mike Sanchez had said anything.  I wasn’t paying attention. As for the player having a bad game, that happens. I’ve said that a few times already.  People have put a lot of pressure on the two star freshmen, saying they’re gonna do this n that over the next four years, etc.  Maybe they will. I’m a Silsbee fan so it would not hurt me if they did.  But it is not a given.

They ran into a well prepared team.  I think that whole team has been in the weight room and there is nothing wrong with that approach.  Right now Silsbee is more of a finesse team.  A finesse team that has streaky shooters at best.  Perhaps that will be different next season.  IDK.

Adams & McCain were fast enough to play the run game and big enough to pull rebounds & go inside when they needed to. Plus they had Brae Bush.  This current set of guards are about 6’1’  170.   Maybe they will fill out.  Maybe their shots will not let them don in the future.  Time will tell.

Yes, I was around but I didn’t not know that. Didn’t follow Silsbee posts at all because we never played them until this year. Wish I had though, I might have to go dig those up in the archives, sounds like an interesting read.

Harper, Jones, Miller and Harris were the regular starting lineup. All freshman and sophomores. Gilder was the lone senior starter.

Silsbee might actually be even younger next year. Those 3 freshman that were on the team this year weren't the only ones that could play. I'd expect at least one or two more of those kids to get moved up. Also might have two current 8th graders that'll make the team.

There are several sophomores to be juniors  that will add to the strength of the team as well.

Silsbee will win state atleast 2 times with this group

With the clubs that continue to come out of the Dallas area and Yates always in the running that may be a stretch. They are going to be solid but it’s gonna be tough to win the region much less state!!

Faith Family will return a few players from this current team next year and with the transfer portal they will be the team to beat. Who knows what team Yates will field next season. Huffman isn’t too far from the big city, they might can get some players from Humble ISD or Dayton  area

Surely not.  They don’t even believe in players switching schools who have always lived in a particular district.
